Anand Restaurant in Surrey is a Pure Vegetarian Restaurant serving Indian Punjabi foods, Pizza's & Burgers. This is a family operated business , very quiet , clean with simple ambience giving privacy to customers.
We visited the restaurant yesterday after many months & ordered Channa Bhatura, Paneer Bhatura, Aloo Paratha, French Fries, Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream & for take away too- 3 x large Pizza's (2 x Paneer +1 x Sweet & Spicy).
All the dishes were tasty & with good serving portions & we were happy that Channa Bhatura, Aloo Paratha etc were served with generous portions of Yoghurt. Though we requested dishes to be made spicy , they were actually mild in taste. The Salad was a let down -like ALL NORTH INDIAN Restaurants in BC. (Merely consisting of chopped Onions. No Cucumber , Tomato, Coriander or Tomato pieces nor flavourings). The Ghulab Jamun with Icecream was good . Previously we had tried their Anand Special Burgers & Veg Biryani. Both were good. The French Fries are Crisp, Fresh & very tasty to eat with hardly any oil visible. Prices were modest & catered to middle class customers levels. Service was good & the ladys serving most pleasing. Overall a good Restaurant for a good wholesome vegetarian meal.
This unpretentious family operated Punjabi Restaurant tucked away in Surrey serves ONLY vegetarian foods...which is a "Plus" point in "meat obsessed BC. This restaurant apart from serving the standard North Indian dishes, has an extensive Pizza Menu & further serves 3 different types of Veg Burgers. Food quality is excellent, servings sufficient & prices reasonable. A great place to visit...

We had experienced the food from Anand at their restaurant as well as a take out. First of all, if you think you had amazing samosas from anywhere else, let the thought go. The samosas at Anand aren’t factory made, they’re filled by hand and in fact filled so well, just a couple of them could easily be considered a meal! The filling is full of flavour, not overbearing in spices, but actually very enjoyable combination of each spice carefully integrated to provide you with a very delicious mouthful. The pastry is the authentic crispy (not crumbly), light pastry, not greasy or chewy, just wonderful texture that we all know and identify when taking a bite into an OG Samosa. Their tamarind sauce… aaaaahhh, what a delight! It’s not some watered down grainy nonsense you get served at many south Asian places, no no, THIS tamarind sauce will have your eyes rolling backwards from its mouth watering flavour and almost purè texture. You can dip in it and not worry of an inconvenience of a run-down and drip, or you can spoon it or pour it on your snack, it compliments and completes your fried samosas or pakoras. Absolutely magical experience!
I would highly recommend their shahi paneer, mushroom mattar sabzi, dhal makhni, garlic naan, gulab jammun and of course,...
Read moreI ordered from this restaurant via uber on Sunday April 07, 2024, order #AAE23. My order was Veg Burger with Fries, Mattar Mushroom, Veg Pakora, Chaat and Veg Noodles. The food was not of very good quality. Veg burger was burnt from the bottom and had burning taste. Fries were cold and soggy. I cannot eat spicy food. So i specifically told them to not put any chillies, chilly powder or hot sauce in my noodles. I took noodles to work for my lunch. And when i eat them they were extremely spicy for my taste. Unwontedly i had to eat them because i had nothing else to eat and i was hungry. Later i experienced stomach burn because of these spicy noodles and had to take a half day off from work. Even after coming back from work i had discomfort throughout the day. Although i cannot eat spicy food but still i am ok after few hours, but what would have happen if someone is allergic and you give them spicy food even after specific instructions? It could prove fatal. Customer safety and satisfaction should be the first priority. Missing specific instructions is not very professional. I don’t think i will ever be ordering from them and...
