Minute Bakery — Restaurant in Surrey

Wouldn’t even give one star if I had a choice. Don’t come to this bakery if you are looking for a detailed custom cake, and definitely don’t rely on them as your only bakery option. I was in talks with them about a cake order to which they were chatting about the details and didn’t like how many photos I sent for reference photos - even though I went into depth with what details on each image I wanted incorporated onto one cake- their online order form doesn’t allow you to upload more than three images so i submitted the form with what I could and sent an email stating to refer to my email which they received long before my order form online that they requested and required- to start they were annoyed that I send an email with all the details and told me I needed to do an online order form- which I didn’t have an issue doing but; what I had an issue with was they simply just didn’t want to put the effort into referring to my email with the information- that and any time I called to ask for them to get back to me regarding the quote they said they would call me in a half hour- never called back; kept hanging up on me were extremely unprofessional with how they answered and ended each phone call- often never even saying goodbye just “ok” and hanging up- I asked multiple times for someone to get back to me with the quote and eventually they told me they didn’t have time to fill the order- so I don’t even know when they were communicating about cake details with me when they didn’t have time in the first place? To me it just seemed like they didn’t like the fact they had to refer to my email and didn’t want to put the effort and work to reading and creating the cake I wanted for my daughters 3rd birthday . They told me to choose one image I liked and I said there’s wasn’t one specific one I liked most- nor did I want them to just copy that one same cake- I explained that I liked aspects of each image and explained in detail what elements on each of the uploaded emailed images I wanted- every other bakery I contacted told me right away about their availability for the date/month - I’ve never had such an unprofessional experience from a store front bakery before yet- and I’ve never been in talks with a bakery designing my cake and then been told after putting in that much work to explain the cake details and flavour that they didn’t have the time to do the order? It was all bazaar and extremely unprofessional. I thought that from their images of their cakes they have does previously that they would have the experience and know how and ability to do the custom cake we were discussing- but what bothered me most was that they just decided half way through that process they just didn’t want to do it. Luckily I had a feeling that this bakery was not going to work out and I went with Cassandra Cake Company instead who had no issue and amazing communication. I’d check them out over this bakery if I were you; and save yourself the heartbreak because if you are relying on only them; you won’t get a cake ! Not only did they do all the mentioned above; but they also left this go past the two week to the date mark before telling me that they were not able to fill my order , so if I wasn’t looking elsewhere already due to their lack of professionalism I was experiencing; I wouldn’t be able to order ANYWHERE because most places require at LEAST two weeks prior to the date of your event to fill a custom order. Extremely displeased- save yourself the hassle....

As a 19 year old I usually resort to expensive cake bakers in Van or Burnaby to to make trendy cakes, but they can be costly and far to drive to just for a cake. I came across Minute Bakery as a last minute resort to make a cake for my sister. I was searching places with nice to go cakes that were affordable but still looked somewhat customized compared to a regular DQ or T&T cake, and by my surprise when I visited their shop, their to go cakes are even better than some expensive places in Van! Their to go cakes can also be ordered in a days notice if the size you want isn’t available at that moment. They have multiple flavours as well, I ordered at 7pm the day before and called around 11 am the next day and they said they had already completed it! Their late working hours really come in handy for last min purchases! I got a great looking to-go cake for half the price of one I would get in Vancouver and it actually tastes so good. My family and I will definitely be re-purchasing cakes from here! This is a review on our recent purchase of the customized buzz light year themed birthday cake, that we got on our son’s third birthday from minute bakery.This was our first experience with any baker for a custom cake and I must say they have not only checked all the boxes but exceeded our expectations. It looked precisely the way we expected, with flawless tiny details and decoration delicately done. The lava fudge was perfectly moist and the buttery top coating holds the structure extremely well. The presentation was 10/10.

Overall not only it looked stunning but tasted equally delicious, especially when it melts inside the mouth with the cream cheese in the center was mouthwatering and flavorsome. I am extremely thankful for the work they have put in. We recommend everyone to trust minute bakery for there custom made cakes .
