You owe it to yourself to try this place. There's a reason Nikko is consistently in the conversation when it comes to best sushi restaurant in Surrey. Beautiful slabs of sashimi that melt in your mouth. Perfect rolls every time. There's some serious talent in the kitchen here. Even the rice in their nigiri is just ...better! Warm, happy atmosphere. You can tell the staff are proud of what they've created. If you're having a bad day, stop in. You'll leave with a smile on. Pretty solid bang for the buck too. We rarely miss our weekly sushi night, and Nikko is quickly becoming our go-to spot. Good people, fresh, high-quality ingredients, and an understanding of what makes great sushi....

As someone who enjoys sushi and exploring new restaurants, I was excited to try this spot based on its long-standing reputation. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. I ordered takeout, but upon opening the box, I was immediately disappointed. The presentation was unappealing, with the sushi carelessly arranged (as shown in the attached photo). The rolls were soggy, and even the soy sauce was poorly packaged.

The food was good, portion modest but service was troubling slow. Upon entering a near empty restaurant at 6:30pm, it took 15 minutes to get service. In that duration I found my own seat, took a menu, waited for the other tables to pay, went to washroom, came back to line up at an empty counter again. Tea came another 15 minutes later. When I became the last customer in the restaurant, I felt silly repeatedly asking out loud at the empty front counter to settle the bill while watching the waitress stand behind the noren curtains for five minutes in front of me.
