Update: this is now the worst sushi place I have ever had anywhere in my life. It's flavorless, watery, burnt, sugary (depending what dishes you have). It was absolutely awful. I saw a lady a table away say to her friend that hers smelt bad, she ate it and her face reassured it was bad. The menu ordering machine has some major flaws and no option to eliminate mayo for vegan. The server was nice but unfortunately I would very very strongly recommend staying far far away from here. It's a shame because it used to be one of my favorite spots it just keeps going through new owners. We had for reference gomae (it was sugary and way to full), veggie gyoza (it was burnt, flavorless sauce and not really good), oshinko roll didn't taste pickled, veggie roll extremely bland, avocado roll was good, spicy agadashi tofu was watery and weird. One of the best sushi places in Surrey, and prices are very inexpensive. Love this place.

Decent food and great service. The menu has a lot of options and the sushi is great value for the low price. I ordered the Crazy Rabbit Roll, the OMG Roll, California Roll, and Spicy Tuna Roll. My favorite was definitely the Spicy Tuna roll, it was drenched in a spicy sauce that added a real kick to the sushi. The Crazy Rabbit roll tastes good and it's massive. I thought the OMG roll was OK, though I am personally not a fan of the tamago egg inside the roll, so if you like tamago, you will like this roll. The California Roll was good, fairly standard among most sushi joints. The staff was great and kept my tea and water filled the whole time I was there, they always followed up with me in case I needed anything extra, and our waitress was kind. I look forward to visiting again to try more of their signature rolls!

No customer service skills needed here. You get to your table and then order off a tablet, and need to place each person's order separately, so food was coming out while one person was still ordering. Food was quick as they had 3 guys on the sushi line and we were the only ones in this huge restaurant. From the outside it's hard to tell if they are open as they have the windows covered up. I also think the soya sauce was watered down or it was not the same soya sauce the bottle advertised. The miso soup tasted a bit creamy which was different and a bit weird. My friends yam tempura roll had zero crunch, which was disappointing. Glad I tried the place, everything else was ok, nothing special, but I won't be coming back.

Atmosphere: I really liked the atmosphere - it was unlike most every other sushi restaurant I'd been to. It was bustling and cozy, like a family bar, it even had mounted TVs with the sports section playing.

WAIT TIME: Expect to wait. I went here upon high praise from employees at the nearby mall, so I went alone during my one hour lunch break. This made the wait time for my food a little more obvious. Nearly thirty minutes for my Assorted Sashimi, and my Tuna Teriyaki Roll came fifteen minutes later. But. As mentioned in "Atmosphere" they were absolutely bustling, with six sushi chefs/assistants hacking away behind the bar, and not mentioning any cooks they may have had behind in the kitchen, they were doing their best to meet the demands of both diners and the long line of take-out orders.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: There was one waitress that stood out as.. a little distracted.. I watched as multiple customers, including myself, tried to get her attention, waving arms and shouting "excuse me" to no avail as she walked slowly around, and then stared into the distance.. Everyone else was cheerful, attentive as they could be, definitely busy, but very commendably polite. Tea refills were slow, but got faster as dazed-girl was helped with tables, and food was received - in my case after thirty minutes (I tried paying attention to other tables as well).

FOOD: The Assorted Sashimi was okay, a little bland - which I'm told is what is associated with fish that isn't super fresh. I got half Tuna, half Salmon. Not the most flavorful; I gave into the urge to put both wasabi and soy sauce on my fish to give it taste. It's rare that I don't dip it in something, but it's even more rare that I do both, and to the extent that I did as consistently as I did.

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect with my Teriyaki roll, but I assume the soggy, translucent yellow circle on the inside was the deep fried part.

I wouldn't mind trying them again, see if it was just an off night. They've gotten really good online and in-person reviews.

Generous portions. Cheaply priced.

Decent menu variety.

They say that if you want to know if a food/restaurant is true to its ethnicity you watch who eats it/there, and for a Sushi restaurant the majority of customers I saw there were East Asian. Hopefully that's encouraging and not insulting in some way.

Side note: They had their ginger soaking in a cup on the table, with prongs. Never seen that...

I went with my family to get takeout and have a picnic, but they gave us the wrong order. We called to let them know and ask for a refund because we were already far away and it wouldn't have been too much work to go back and replace it (plus that would have completely ruined the picnic), and I kid you not they called the owner (who wasn't there), asked for our email so they can keep in contact about the issue, asked for us to describe our order (we did but they've weren't accepting it saying we were wrong but it's not at all what I payed for), and even sent us CCTV footage to try and ask us what was the issue. An FBI investigation would have been less complicated than this. I wouldn't be surprised if they call me tomorrow asking for fecal samples to extract and test the sushi from it. Maybe next they'll ask for an iris scan? And at the end we didn't even get the refund not because we were wrong but because they were making it too complicated. They were making it complicated on purpose because they didn't want to give a refund even though they messed up. I know I sound very angry right now but I was completely reasonable on the phone, and I was talking how I'd want a customer to talk to me at my restaurant. I'm not being a Karen, I work at a restaurant so I know what it's like, but this restaurant was absolutely horrendous, and something like this would have never occurred at my restaurant. At my restaurant, if the order is wrong, either replace it or refund it, no questions asked and no FBI report will be made. The food wasn't even good. I'd recommend going to Sushi Castle in Morgan Crossing on 24th avenue, prices there are good, service there great, and food tastes good. One star for Sushi & Roll and frankly I would give them a negative rating if I could. I would've saved time, energy, money and it would've tasted better if I simply ate the feces that are in the toilet as I sit on it writing this review.

To summarize this short story, this place was absolutely awful. If this was my only option for a place to eat I'd simply stave to death. Do...

Ordered from doordash. Delivery was great and quick. The 1 star is for the food quality only.

Not sure if today was a one off thing because last time I came here a couple years ago i remember it being pretty good. Maybe its because of COVID, but I ordered some today and it was atrocious. To begin with, the spicy scallop roll felt very empty and it felt like they didn't roll it up properly as it basically got squished by my chopsticks when i went to pick it up. To make it spicy, instead of mixing the scallop with a special spicy sauce like most restaurants, they literally drizzled the roll in Sriracha sauce.... the spider roll i can't comment on because it was my first time trying that kind of roll but it didn't leave any good impressions. The ebi sunomono was red!! I've never seen a restaurant use red vinegar to make their sunomono and maybe it would have worked out but the red colour does not do the already red radishes and carrot any justice (in terms of appearance); looked like something from a horror movie. The taste was okay but the worst part was the shrimp. It was super dry, and too chewy. Worst ebi I've had in sunomono in my entire life. Takoyaki, to be fair was not the worst I've had. But it felt like they sucked out half of the filling because the takoyaki felt empty. Didn't help that the there was 1 tiny chunk of octopus and so the texture wasn't very nice. Again, maybe this was a one time thing because when I ate at the restaurant, it was perfectly fine. But today... wow. Waste of money even with the doordash discount I got. I'll try the restaurant again after COVID is over, but until then, not coming back.

On a side note, their Wasabi is pretty good. Some restaurants have really bad tasting Wasabi but theirs was...
