Read moreOn our first trip to Tobermory 3 years ago (we're from the US), we stumbled upon this rather strange looking place with a waving skeleton outside. We had to try it and boy were we glad we did! The pirate that waited on us (see 1st photo from 3 yrs ago ) was the best and very much seemed to enjoy his work. All you can eat fish and chips with some of the best tasting fish I had ever had. We decided that next time we were in the area this would be the first place we would stop. True to our word 3 yrs later and we are back.
And again the place didn't disappoint. Even the same friendly pirate greeted us again (see next set of pictures), and the waitress we had was friendly and she was really quick with getting our orders to us. The fish comes out hot so be careful with the first bite but that's the way you want it. And the quality of the food is top of the chart.
The decor is crazy cool. Surf boards, skeletons, shrunken heads, and pirates. Oh. And Jimmy Buffet music playing in the background. It makes for a memorable dining experience. I'm hooked. It is about a 16-17 hour drive from my house in Indiana to Shipwreck Lee's. I'm tempted to make a bandit run next weekend just for another taste of the fish. It's...
