The best part of the meal was that our bellies were full. I can also fill my belly with Kraft Dinner at home. I took a friend there for her birthday. Staff was rushing around and not really taking the time to properly greet and take the orders. Everyone was in a big fat hurry. The place does not serve chicken. Really? I guess chicken is not Italian. My veal meatballs were salty and I had to spit out a couple of rubber pieces of fat. That was gross. The side dish of pasta had green vegetables which were not edible. I almost chocked on them so had to leave them aside. The tables were SOOO close together that the waitress' butt was right in my face while she was taking the next table's order. People walking in to be seated were brushing up against our food with their coats. Cramming as many seats as possible into a small space is tacky. Waiter tried to take my friend's plate away with food still on it. His way of rushing us out the door. We had to yell above the noise to ask him to stop. The place was so noisy that we were yelling to be heard. Could not carry a conversation. We felt as if we were sitting in a cafeteria in a food court. As well, parmesan cheese is typically served FRESHLY grated at your table, not in a bowl with spoon. Although there was a line up at the door, the place didn't have that many seats so that didn't impress us. The kitchen had too many cooks that it seemed unsanitary. We ended up at a coffee shop for dessert which was...
Read moreI have lived on Eglinton for nearly 10 years. I've walked past this place so many times and never gave it much thought. One night, I recalled that my roommate had mentioned this place and had raved about how much she loved it.
I decided to give 7 Numbers a shot, and I ordered takeout. We ordered the veal lasagna and lamb shank. We were blown away. Since that night, I have dined in the restaurant and have had take out at least once every 3 weeks.
7 Numbers has, by far, the absolute best Southern Italian Soul food that I have EVER had. The family meal ($39/per person) consists of 3 salads, 3 pastas, an entree and grilled veggies on the side. The portions are generous and I have never left feeling hungry or dissatisfied. It is rare in midtown Toronto to find decent, home cooked food, with soul at such an affordable price.
It warms our hearts to see Mama Rosa cook in the kitchen, adding to the authenticity of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The experience is always topped off with the front of house manager, Tom, ready to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. He remembers our names, checks in on us during our dining experience and from time to time will run out of the restaurant to say hi when we are walking down the street.
Never have I felt more welcomed at a place than I have at 7 Numbers. I highly recommend this place, and I highly recommend everything on the menu. There is not a single bad dish here. Give it a shot, you will not be...
Read moreThe hosts at this restaurant literally make you feel like you were a family member invited to a dinner at their house! For a small restaurant, this place packs in big flavour and huge portions!
Now you know from all my other posts I love uploading photos but this time we were out with friends and wanted to be respectful instead of snapping photos.
I ordered the lamb shank, which was fall off the bone soft! Packed with flavour and enough to not leave any room for dessert!
The atmosphere can be hit or miss for some people as it is a much smaller restaurant with a lot of seating. You don’t really feel congested at all but they do get really busy and usually have a full house so it does get really loud to where you may not be able to have a quiet conversation. With that being said, if you want to enjoy, eat, laugh, and have an absolutely amazing dinner and amazing time with loved ones, this is the place to...
