Heard about this place from a friend, decided to give it a try. Decent place not as big as i thought it was. They are located in a small unit. When i was first walking in it was quite uncomfortable as there are guys outside the store smoking and staring at all that walks in. When i got in the store their are 2 guys working in the back. They seem pretty uninterested if your not "their kind of people", if you get what i mean. Decided to order the small spinach and beef shawarma pies as you have to wait 15 mins for pizza or whatever you want customized. Will definitely say that was a first and last time drop in for me. Not a fan
WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 STARS IF IT WAS AN OPTION
Fast forward 5 days later i was notified the response from the owner regarding my harmless review of my experience i encountered there. "HE ALSO DELETED HIS WHOLE REPLY AFTER I WROTE BACK". THANKFULLY I SAVE IT. Pretty disgusting and unprofessional, heres what he had to say.
"Stephanie, You are mistaken and so far from the truth. First of all, your racial comment will not be tolerated. " if not your kind' they treat your differently if you know what i mean. NO! NO ONE KNOWS WHAT YOU MEAN - BEING RACIAL? it shows you have issues with yourself. First of all, customers have every right to smoke outside in the plaza after their meal, well we dont control that, and that you waited 15 minutes. 15 minutes according your time, never do go past 5-6 minutes to make a manakeesh, and for shawaram/? well WE DONT DO SHAWARMA, so you probably leaving a review about the wrong place. WE MAKE YOU UNCONFORMABLE. WHEN YOU WALKED IN? it is very clear, You have issues and a low self-esteem to feel that way, as we are the most welcoming, giving bakery you will ever find. Our prices are unbeatable, every customer gets a free minim pie as a welcome, we offer unlimited free tea, we give discounts, and on every Wednesday we offer thyme/zatar for only $1.00, so you may be the problem here".
So im guessing my review was not up to his standards because he clearly believes it is the best business. You need to read better because your comprehension is not all there along with your spelling errors. It is OBVIOUS "THAT YOU GOT WHAT I MEAN" as you said it, i didnt. I clearly wrote "it was uncomfortable before getting in the store not that you made me feel uncomfortable" you are very immature and uncomfortable with the truth and it shows. News flash, as a blogger i have every right to review your business on what was experienced there. Sorry that i hurt your feelings that bad that it made you attack & verbally insult my intellect. I didnt even mention the fact that you didnt even say hi when i walked in just stared at me until i got close to the glass and then asked what i wanted, SO NO, you are not the most welcoming bakery people will ever find. I was never offered tea or a free pie, as i paid for every single one. I also did not order the pizza after you told me 5-12 minute wait hence why "i said i got the small pies". Disgusting as a business owner to write such treacherous remarks and attack people, apparently i am the problem & have low self esteem along with issues. Your horrific remarks go to show how unpleasant my experience at your store was. That unseasoned food and distasteful hostile atmosphere. I do not need to stoop down to your level. Wish you the best of luck, and words of advise, be a better human being. THAT TYPE OF ATTITUDE IS NOT TOLERATED IN A BUSINESS CORPORATION. You will...
Read moreWhen I first found this place I was excited. First order was amazing. The last time I went to this location was during the pandemic. The place was busy which wasn't a surprise to me at the time. Placed an order and had no issue waiting until people were being given their orders that were placed after mine before me. I was waiting for 45 mins which to me is not acceptable. Finally got my order and left to go home. When we got home and went to eat we noticed there was something on the bottom of the manakeesh. Pieces of the mop that they were using to clean the oven were baked onto the bottom!!! PIECES OF MOP!!! Two out of the four had mop on the bottom and to be honest after that who is going to eat any of it! I called the place and the response I got was subpar. They use the mop to clean the oven.....Yeah and !! I use soap to clean my pans.....doesn't mean that there is going to be soap in the pan the next time I go to use it!! They offered to replace one of the manakeesh. I wouldn't even be able to bring myself to eat it. Good luck if you do decide to try it.
EDIT TO OWNER: This wasn't this past weekend. This was a couple of months ago. When I called I was told that I was speaking to the owner so it was a little bit of a shock to me when you originally said you had no idea what had happened. You told me that you always use a mop to clean the oven. I wasn't going to write a review because I honestly loved coming here. I decided to write the review because I did NOT want anyone else to experience this. It's funny how you go from so apologetic to accusatory. Not trying to tarnish anything......as I can see my one review is not going to affect your star rating on Google. The fact that your tone changes so fast is amazing. So glad you all of a sudden decided to stop using a mop to clean the oven so no one else has to experience that.
ANOTHER REPLY TO OWNER: AMAZING how no one remembers any complaint!! Anyways if I wanted a refund I would have come by the following Monday as the person I spoke to told me and gotten a refund. I was not saying anything about the fact that you use/used a mop to clean the oven. I am saying it would be nice just to ensure that there are no pieces that have fallen off in the oven. That's all. There is no reason for you to try and be condescending either. Just an FYI I am middle eastern. Since this is bothering you so much I will delete this review cause I am honestly over reading...
Read moreGotta go here more than once!
I went here for the first time this weekend from a friend referral. Honestly....no regrets! I’m very adventurous in food and the manakeesh served here will not disappoint! Absolutely delicious!! Everything is made fresh to your order, they also offer an option where you bring in your own ingredients (would assume it’d have to be halal) and they will make a manakeesh first just $1.50?!!!! When my friend told me that, I was so intrigued as you don’t see a lot of that type of service here. I love the authenticity and please don’t change! Their manakeesh are very well priced. For the quality I am getting, freshness....totally worth the $3-$3.50.
Seating wise, there’s a pizza bar, and I think a table that sits 4 people. Honestly I was so happy eating in my car. They also have a little display of savoury pies and I wish I saw it earlier because I would’ve bout a dozen as well! Lol it’s a mini mini convenience store where they sell drinks, bubble gum, and little trinkets of tea and kaak.
Last but not least, the owner or employees serving customers are the utmost humble people ever. Very attentive, and patient and helpful. I didn’t even know sujuk had the option of cheese or egg. Thank you for that. Just that little bit means A LOT. He is great with kids too! Was waiting in line and he offered lollipops to the kids from a family!
I am DEFINITELY coming back for more. Thank you for the amazing food...
