If you are looking for a nice romantic place to have dinner... do NOT go here! However if you want to watch the game, shoot some pool, enjoy a cold one and grab a bite to eat then this is perfect. It's very dimly lit and the "regulars" are always here. Not the most modern looking place but it's cozy, you feel comfortable here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Didn't have to wait long at all to place an order but the place wasn't too busy this time (last time I phoned in my order from my table because it was so busy, waitress got a kick out of that) It's a little seedy looking and has an odor of sports playing sweaty workmen but that goes away quickky enough. The food is delicious! No fancy high priced decorated plates here. Just real food served in very generous portions. Priced beyond reasonable. Daily specials that are sometimes more than half price and still generous portions. Offers all day breakfast ALL day, not cut off at 4pm. You want bacon and eggs at 8pm, you got it! I wouldn't recomand bringing younger children here simply because fhe guys rootimg for their team don't always think about language. Many sports teams go here after their games to celebrate their win or gripe about their loss. I believe I have found my go to place for my nacho fix! They KNOW how to make nachos with tins of cheese, veggies and chilli (if you don't want chilli they have a veggie option as well.) Customers are friendly and say hello to everyine, even if they don't know them. I most certainly will be returning. Check them out if you are...
Read moreI went to this place a few days ago on the first really nice day this spring. Weather was good and so I stopped and ordered a beer and went out to sit on the table outside. I was thinking of ordering fish and chips. People were coming in to get takeout so I thought I would give it a try. The bartender came out a few minutes after she brought the beer and asked if I had been smoking.....she wasn't rude but the question seemed odd. I told her I wasn't smoking (I don't smoke) and I asked why she thought I was. She said ...Oh the kitchen said something....?????? It didn't make sense but I thought that was that. A few minutes later.....this Karen steps out on the patio and starts barking at me like a little rabid poodle....YOU CAN"T SMOKE HERE!!!!!! She had an apron on so maybe she was working in the kitchen. I told her I wasn't smoking and she frowned and turned to go back in. No apology for her nasty tirade. Thank God I hadn't ordered food...My first experience in the place...It was entertaining but I won't be back. Who wants to pay...
Read moreOrdered food for take out. Made sure to order my food ahead of time so I could just grab it and leave. It was -20 outside. Had no interest drinking in the bar. Just wanted a burger on my way home. Because I had a LCBO bag with me I was told I was not allowed to be inside the bar. In front of everyone in the bar I was asked to wait outside for my food. I was just there to pick up food, not to drink. I was forced to wait outside for my food, in -20 weather because it is "Policy".
I can understand there being a problem if someone were to walk into the bar with there own alcohol and start ordering drinks. But I was just there to pick up my food and leave. This kind of treatment was 100% unacceptable, and a horrible judgment call on the Bartender that was on duty at the time. The saddest part to me is that I am a local, I like to support local business. But this kind of thing I...
