Food: Everything I've tried on their menu has been consistently good. My go to item on their menu is the jerk chicken sandwich which consists of cocobread filled with juicy jerk chicken and coleslaw (optional). It is the perfect size for a light lunch. The stuffed sandwich is equally good. It has slightly less chicken meat, but in its place is an entire beef Patti (mild or spicy) holding the chicken and slaw. The beef patties alone are also good. The pastry is more flaky than the average ones you find elsewhere. The roti here is massive and filled with tons of meat, and has a spiciness that builds as you keep eating. I would recommend splitting one between two people. The rice and peas with jerk chicken (large) comes with a good portion of meat on top as well as a serving of coleslaw. The portion is probably enough to feed two as well. Service: As this is a takeout joint in a food court, you get your food pretty quickly. The servers aren't the most friendly, however they make up for that with how quickly they get you your food. As a note, the servers are sometimes doing things in the back and can miss you when you're standing at the counter. Just ring the bell to get their attention. Price: Although prices here have recently gone up (the sandwiches are now slightly above $5, and the large size rice and peas is a little over $10), everything is still great value.

"Now this stuff is authentic y'all!" What time we arrived/Wait time? We arrived here on a Wednesday evening at 8:30pm. Understandable dead at that time. Atmosphere? It is in a small food court at yonge-sheppard so I wouldn't say it had much of an atmosphere. I would say it's very homey and cozy this cafeteria. They have trees along the centre and there aren't many tables. I like it. Simple. Service/Staff? The guy didn't really look at us. It was near closing time so I'm sure he was busy doing other things and wanted to get out of there. He prepared our meals fast and we didn't mind at all. Food/Menu? The food was great! Really thought the food tasted super authentic and was so creative as well. We ordered the jerk chicken stuffed sandwhich (w the coleslaw) and 1 chicken and 1 beef patty... and a lb. of jerk chicken. It was amazing!!! The jerk chicken was the best that I've tasted in my life. It was alittle salty but I think that's the way it usually is. I loved the skin on the chicken as well and how it fell off. The sandwhich was so cool as well but verrrry filling (lots of bread). The patty's were the only just OK thing but not bad at all. Overall, it's a great late night grab or meal that you need quick.

Want to check out Jamaican food? Start here at Allwyn's with a Stuffed Sandwich which really should be called The Triple Threat (or Treat) because this inventive star does it all. First, it has all the right stuff with jerk, patty, coco bun and coleslaw. Second, it looks good, smells good, is a fun slobbery mess to eat and tastes great. Third, for a sandwich, it fills you up, all for under $6 plus tax, thus taking home the five star grand prize with a dominating performance. Tried out the jerk pork with peas and rice with coleslaw and the same moist nicely spiced pork for the sandwich makes for a good conventional Jamaican dish. Nice people here too. Cash or debit only. Worth seeking out (especially in the cold of winter February 2019) in the food court on the West side of the ground floor of the Emerald condo buildings off Yonge St. The live trees here make for a nice buffer to the activity at lunch time and you get the added amusement of having your table wobble gently everytime a subway train passes by underground. Check out that sandwich!
