The salmon was great, the server was very friendly, and the music was enjoyable, but the management was poor and unprofessional. My friend and I split the cauliflower gratin, which came out warm in some spots and straight-up cold in others (they clearly have this prepared in advance and pop it in the oven right before serving, which is totally fine). We told them about the slip-up, but since we had taken big first bites and it wasn't a health hazard to eat something like that cold, we just opted not to throw out edible food to avoid being wasteful. At the end of the meal, nothing was discounted or comped because we chose to just eat it and not make a bigger deal about it in the moment, which seemed a bit "cold" of them, for lack of a better word. The manager was very defensive and explained his rationale for not doing anything about it three times in a row (we ate it, after all, and he really couldn't verify if it was cold/didn't take our word for it/basically accused us of lying) before he finally comped the dish. It was a big scene and very disrespectful and unprofessional, and it definitely didn't have to be. There is some decent food to be had here, but we won't be going back out of principle. If you’re looking for a coffee and a sweet treat, I recommend this spot. Checked this place out for the first time today and A nice spot for groups of all sizes. Met with a friend here and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. They have a good range of food options and everything we tried was great. The coconut curry with duck was the right amount of rich and savoury and the Hanoi bowl had a large portion of well-seasoned pork to enjoy. The atmosphere when we arrived was welcoming and easy to talk but as the night progressed and larger groups arrived it got a little noisy - nothing you wouldn’t expect though. Kind and attentive staff as well. While we were a group of two there was plenty of larger groups making the most of their evening here. A friend and I had a reservation one weeknight. Embarrassingly, I missed an email from Aviator cancelling my reservation due to a broken refrigerator. We showed up to a completely empty restaurant except for the owner, Alex and his mother waiting at the bar. Shocked and surprised...Alex kept the restaurant open just for us as he had not heard from me regarding the cancelled reservation. There are no words to express my gratitude for how kind and generous it was to keep the restaurant open. Alex was so welcoming and hospitable.
