A gem of a find, for those who have not visited “La Vegan Ethiopian & Eritrean Vegan cuisine restaurant” yet.

Located at 1450 Danforth Ave, on the north side, besides a Mexican restaurant “El Sol…”

This little place is not so little but traditional and super friendly with outstanding service. The prices are agreeable for most people.

You may seat inside. It is beautiful in there and believe it or not, you will also encounter a good number of people proving just what I said. Probably, a great many of these customers are repeats, others vegetarian and others, just trying to impress their partners.

Outside: These seats are intended for those that appreciate the summer and are tired of the cold. There are 2 seatings, by the restaurant wall, about 2 to 4 tables and by the street on a deck, nicely decorated, where we sat. Red chairs, wooden tables and a big umbrella. 4 tables here.

On, so you want to know about the food. Nutritious, tasty and if you go with their original recipes in the menu, you may experience HOT. So, make sure to ask what you are getting and if there is something that could be altered. My wife cannot handle piquant or spicy, so we asked for mild stuff.

I had the Ethiopian Spiced tea, quite nice!… my suggestion, do not insert the tea-bag that comes with the tea on the side. That will transform the tea to “ordinary”.

We had: La Vegan Veggie Combo (a combination of all vegan ingredients) Green Salad (delicious and on a large wooden bowl)

There is no dress code, as far as we know, there is a bar, lots of coffees and teas and licensed as well.

See for yourself and make sure you get a knife with your fork, we did not.

The water tastes great and is complimentary and they will bring lots of serviettes and salt to you.

Their traditional bread is super special and you may get more of it as well.

So, make La Vegan Ethiopian & Eritrean Vegan cuisine restaurant, your choice. We did and definitely had a great time and enjoyed delicious food.

Note to management: I suggest the Ethiopian Spicy tea be served with a ginger tea bag on the side and ideally a bigger cup.

Thank you for this Ethiopian experience...

La Vegan Ethiopian and Eritrean Restaurant✨ is my absolute favourite vegan restaurant in Toronto. Banchi and her amazing staff create incredible cultural vegan dishes with perfection!

I was not a big fan of mushrooms until I tried the mushroom tibs at La Vegan. They were so delicious, made with high-quality ingredients and flavorful spices, that they actually made me love mushrooms.

The appetizer Injera Rolled with Lentils, and Hummus with Injera, and the salads are also absolutely delicious. The portions of the appetizers and entrees are very generous and filling.

We've booked multiple family events, such as birthdays and graduation parties, at La Vegan, and Banchi and her team do an excellent job of catering, entertaining us with good music, and providing excellent service, ensuring our events go smoothly.

Beyond the food, the coffee ceremony, desserts (vegan cheesecake, chocolate cake and orange cake) at La Vegan are wonderful additions to the dining experience.

The decor, copper cups and bright environment with beautiful traditional decor make it a lovely spot to take pictures.

The incredible and diverse whole foods they use, combined with the lovely customer service and the restaurant's inviting atmosphere, always bring us back. I highly recommend everyone...

this is one of the best Ethiopian restaurants in Toronto ... the food is delicious, light and easily digestible, sparingly oiled and not greasy, and served in generous portions ... the menu is vast and has an incredible selection, including gluten-free injera ... La Vegan has unique tibs and dishes not offered at other Ethiopian restaurants in the city ... the service is gracious and exceptional ... the servers were present, listened attentively, remained kind, and promptly addressed every request with a genuine smile ... the restaurant ambiance is clean, bright, warm, inviting, and elegantly decorated with culturally classic Ethiopian and Eritrean ornamentation ... overall La Vegan provides a classy dining experience and still keeps prices comparable to nearby restaurants in Little Ethiopia on the Danforth .... my friend and i remain very impressed, deeply pleased, and eager to return for another amazing meal and dining experience ... i've eaten at numerous Ethiopian restaurants in Toronto over the past 10+ years, and La Vegan ranks as one of the very best by far ... I highly recommend you visit this hidden gem for an unforgettable...
