Big Smoke Burger — Restaurant in Toronto

I went there today for a late lunch with my son and girlfriend. After I paid for food, cashier was handling money and then food without washing her hands in between. I addressed the issue with the light skin tall black guy that was assembling the burgers. He proceeded to do nothing. I asked him if he was going to mention anything to her and he replied "I don't know" I told him the whole point of me saying anything was so that he could let her know to was her hands. He again replied with "I don't know". My girlfriend went ahead and called her out on it politely, and she argued back that she was not cross contaminating the food. That is when things went south really quickly. No bacon on my burger which was ordered. My girlfriend ordered Swiss cheese which she did not receive. Food was handed over with out drinks. Fries were also missing from the order. Light skin black guy clearly got annoyed that we addressed the hand washing issue so he CLEARLY took it out on our orders. Very juvenile attitudes from both the cashier and hamburger assembler. By the time everything was fixed, it was about 20 min minimum before i got into a bite of my food. Very rude and unnecessary from the burger assembler. They did not have name tags otherwise i'd be posting their names on here. Absolutely NO customer service skills whatsoever! Told manager. He didn't seem to care much. Will NOT be returning. Much better food spots with better customer service in Sherway. Stay Away. If I could give a negative star ...

I had the spicy burger combo today (to go), which is their regular hamburger + jalapeños. To start with the positives, the food is tasty, delicious and unlike some of the reviews here, no, you cannot compare McDonald's to this, this is superior premium burger taste. The negatives are mostly pertaining to this location in this mall. Even without the lunch crowd, off peak times, expect 10-15 min for your order...long wait times if you are hungry, but it is cooked in front of you so that's still good, and fresh. The lady preparing the order today was very dismissive and uninterested. I asked for extra sauce, was informed by her, looking away, that they have to charge me for extra sauce. This is unheard of from five guys, hero, burger factory, all other competitors will gladly give you sauce on the side, or extra condiments if you politely ask. Lady server stated a firm No, asked me if I want to pay for the extra sauce? I politely declined. Then I asked for extra ketchup packet for fries, was again told no, I can only get a single packet in my order, already inside bag, no extras allowed. Ugh, sour note, uncool service. The fries order, like some already mentioned, was a bit small, you will still be hungry. But the few fries you get at this location, and the burger itself, they were tasty and yummy overall. AVOID THIS PLACE. Terrible experience. 0 stars if I could. The owner needs to replace MANY employees in this location or risk losing his/her Food Safe certificate. There is a clear culture of APATHY and DISRESPECT in that store. Do you WANT to eat unclean food???

First of all, expect long delays from order to pickup, because the food-prepare r will slowly drag her feet from station-to-station. She'll then check her cellphone several times (un-gloved hands), then prepare your food with said un-gloved hand IN ADDITION to preparing her own food! Also witnessed the same employee prepare my bacon poutine order - requires ripping bacon into pieces with gloved hands - and OF COURSE her hands were un-gloved, she also shifted her body sideways to the counter basically attempting to hide from us what she was doing! Meanwhile, another employee is EATING on the floor, another employee is chit chatting on the floor, and yet ANOTHER employee is sitting on the floor near the cash register texting! I returned my order after seeing the this all, especially the bare-hand food handling and frankly I don't think I will be returning.

To the owner: strongly recommend you monitor the store and action appropriately as I'm sure I won't be the last person to witness these...
