Poulet Rouge — Restaurant in Toronto

I will be gracious and give the food here 3 stars even though based on today’s experience it should be a 1 star. Let’s back track a bit and explain the poor rating. This location USED to be good up until about a month ago.. upon finding this location since it opened and we’ve been visiting ever since then, over the past month it’s gone down hill unfortunately. The staff seem to completely lack customer service ( but I will say there are the odd few staff whom are pleasant and professional that are working there during the week days), on the other hand today one of the female staff took our order while we were waiting in line via iPad ( she missed a few items we ordered and we had to wait longer to place the remainder of our order that was missed), eventually paid at front check out, one of the girls behind the counter assembling our 2 bowls made a mistake with what we ordered and got mad AT US because we didn’t accept the bowl she made in error. And for what we ordered we were charged extra for it so of course we were not going to accept less than what we actually paid for. She clearly was upset when we told her it’s not what we ordered and gave us full blown attitude until she passed our bowl to the next person assembling. The next person did everything fine up until they gave my bowl away to another customer and then got mad as us again because they had to remake the bowl all over again- it was crazy busy and everyone was flustered. On top of it, the chicken which is normally well cooked, was full of chewy fatty pieces and most of the chicken in my bowl was thrown away due to that. My husbands bowl however, was barely filled due to the attitude the staff was giving us today. For $55 for 2 bowls, this is NOT worth what we paid for the experience and the quality of the bowl we were given. I understand if it’s busy it can be a challenge working in a job like this, but your frustration shouldn’t be taken out on the people ordering their food. We did nothing wrong and we were as patient as possible with everyone seeing that it was just chaos at this restaurant and everyone working there was scrambling- but no one there has any professionalism or patience for any customers dining there at all. Not a good experience from this location. Prompting us to no longer visit this location. They gave us too much of a hassle to get gravy in a cup on the side for our fries that we purchased. They said “ no your not allowed to do that, it HAS to be a putine your not allowed anything on the side”. Wasn’t aware it was a crime to order anything on the side at this restaurant. Absolutely disappointed and will make the longer trek out of Toronto into Mississauga to go to the other location that doesn’t give attitude or refuse your gravy on the side request. Super disappointing with how this restaurant has turned out since opening. Also, for 2 bowls and a side of fries it was almost $60… that is ridiculous pricing. Not...

Mold on feta cheese! Not food safe

Ordered three bowls for my mom, sister, and I and we all got feta and went to go sit down to eat when my sister noticed a fat piece of mold on the feta cheese. My sister works with cheese and knows what mold looks like, and google images will even show you the same thing you see on that piece of cheese!

We took all three bowls back and the guy working the grill tried telling me it wasn’t mold.. I advised it is, and he was adamant on it being lemon juice from the chicken??? and then offered refunds. I did not want to argue with this man in front of customers, and the other staff so I accepted the refund. But that is evidently mold and if you as a food handler cannot see that is mold then you shouldn’t be serving people food.

It’s extremely unprofessional to lie to your customers face and tell them something isn’t what it obviously is. If you google “feta cheese mold” you will see exactly what’s in the two photos I’ve attached. Taking accountability and removing the cheese instead of continuing to sell it to customers would have definitely changed my experience. I truly hope there’s some sort of quality control here before someone gets...

The service was great. My husband and I were given samples of their chicken and they explained to us that it’s a bowl and you can either get fries, quinoa, brown rice, or salad. You choose either a mini or the regular size the mini gets you two toppings the regular gets you five toppings. I ordered the mini salad with two toppings in the garlic chicken and it was delicious. I also had the spicy mayo salad dressing with that said if you’re having a salad, I recommend you get the regular size one because salad was very small and two you would get a little bit more toppings. They have a huge variety of toppings to choose from so don’t cut yourself short on a salad. As for the quinoa which my husband had, it was a lot of quinoa for just three toppings in the mini, but it was enough as a meal. Wish you could get some quinoa on top of the salad that would’ve been incredible. I will definitely return and try other dishes and other sauces....
