I usually come here for the classic tiramisu, which I’ve always enjoyed. However, my recent visit on Sunday night was extremely disappointing. There was a long line and only one staff member working. I didn’t want to wait 10 minutes only to find out the tiramisu was sold out, so I politely asked the people ahead of me if they were okay with me quickly asking the staff about it—they were fine with it. When I asked the employee if they still had tiramisu, he responded very rudely, saying, “There’s a line,” as if I were trying to cut in. I explained I was just asking a question, not placing an order, but he continued to be dismissive and rude. About five minutes later, he finally said they didn’t have any left—again, in a very disrespectful tone.
I stayed calm, but the interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and, frankly, left me questioning whether there were deeper biases at play. If anyone from Nona Lia is reading this, I urge you to consider better customer service training and a more transparent way to communicate product availability—perhaps signage or real-time updates. After this experience, I won’t...
Read moreOrdered a few iced teas from Bontea on UberEats tonight. 3 drinks total. After almost 15 minutes of them “preparing my order” I get a notification on the app saying they can’t complete my order. Unfortunately, unlike restaurants with good customer service who call the customer via the Uber app and offer substitutions, Bontea cancels your order a moment after they close, so you are unable to order a bubble tea from them, or anyone else, as there were quite a few bubble tea restaurants open, but all closing at the same time.
If you wish to cancel someone’s order because you are too lazy to pour some tea into a glass 15 minutes before closing, maybe you should consider changing your store hours. And not to mention making me wait and miss out on ordering from a better restaurant.
I wish I could comment on the quality of the products, however, as they cancelled my order and I am now waiting 30 days for my refund, I unfortunately have paid a refundable deposit to Bontea, for non-tea. Such a disappointment my first and last Bontea...
Read moreMy mother sees the tiramisu by “Nonna Lia” on Facebook, she is attracted by its presentation and wants to try. Somehow the tiramisu can be bought at BONTEA besides going to its bakery shop on Bathurst Street. BONTEA opens at 4pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends and we arrived at 10:30 on a Sunday night. It is a takeaway bubble tea shop, and there is no dine in area. There are 8 favours of tiramisu, prices range from $19.5 to $22, which is very expensive! As it is our first try and on the safe side, we bought the classic one ($19.5) to be tried on next day. Presentation is nice. The tiramisu is very smooth and creamy, not very sweet, the coffee and wine taste are not strong but balanced. Typical tiramisu uses ladyfingers but this one uses sponge cake instead. I am not a big fan of tiramisu, overall is a yummy one but I still think...
