I really like the bulk barn. The staff are helpful and often knowledgeable about various things ie cooking or herbs, supplements etc. And how do they memorize all the codes and know what every little item is? It's amazing when they know I have tapioca flour and arrowroot flour both white and similar looking and don't have to ask what they are! Now during the pandemic customers can't go into the store and serve themselves product from the storage bins like we used to do. It's not safe. So staff leads individual customers around - and serves them their order by scooping it out of the bins for them. Customers are asked to clean there hands and put on gloves upon entering the store, after waiting outside usually in a very short line, and the staff uses a new set of scoops when serving each customer. It's very well thought out. If customers don't want to or can't go to the store most stores offer curbside pick up as well but I've found orders can take a couple days sometimes before they are ready. The store has so many different things to choice from there are cereals, flours, candies, chocolate wafers for making candy, pans and molds, dried fruit, natural honey and peanut butter, varieties of nuts - whole or chopped and so much more! Check out the site and then make a list and go to a store and get one of the nice staff to fulfill your order. My only real complaint is there are no prices listed on the website. Bad enough prior to the pandemic and worse now when trying to shop and figure out how much of such and such you need and you can't figure...

That's almost double what it was 3 years ago. Another bulk food retailer (Urban Bulk on Queen S E) sells the same Turbinado sugar for $5/kg.
Bulk barn, or at least this location, is milking it's customers using inflation as an excuse. Yes, inflation is happening. But some retailers are padding the increase to line their pockets. ...
