My girlfriend and I brought my parents here for dinner on Sunday..... The waitress (I really wish I could have thought to remember her name) was fantastic! Very friendly and extremely helpful. My girlfriend is Muslim so usually when we go anywhere to eat, the menu is extremely shortened, so I decided to ask her to ask the chef if the chicken was halal. She went to the back and returned with the news that it in fact was halal chicken. For those of you who don't know what halal food is, it is chicken or beef that is 'humanely killed and blessed'... I know thats oxymoronic but the animals have to be completely dead before butchered, are thanked for giving their lives for us etc. Anyways, with the menu opened up for her and us, it made the choices more difficult because now we had half a menu to choose from.... We chose extremely well! We ordered 2 chicken souvlaki dinners that came on a bed of rice with veggies, lemon chicken with rice and veggies, and chicken parmesan on linguine. Everything was amazing! Even the veggies! They must sautee them in an oyster sauce or something. Incredible! The salad before hand and unlimited garlic bread made it even more worth while. The prices were almost too low for the portions we received. Everything was too much to eat. I recommend this place very highly and don't usually review, in this case I HAVE to. Restaurant was not busy and we we were seated and our orders were taken quickly, but after that it was all down hill. We were brought water, but not offered any beverages, be it alcohol or coffee. We did ask for more water, but it was brought after we paid. My son and I ordered the roast beef. It was smothered in the most horrible tasting thick gravey and the beef tasted like it been reheated as it was chewy and brown on outside. It was suppose to be medium rare roast beef. My grandson ordered fish and chips. They were good but not great. For an appetizer, we ordered calamari. It was overcooked and rubbery. I couldn't even chew and swallow the one piece I had. My son managed 2 pieces and my grandson about 3. Very disappointing dinner. Definitely not good quality anymore. For the price , I expect decent service and would like to interact waitress more tham twice, once to take order and second time for paying bill. Even when serving food, she did not interact with us, just put it on table. For the price, I would like edible, tasty food. Very, very disapointed. Like others, I would give zero stars if I could. Long wait to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant and no opportunity to give drink order before food order. All staff were cold shouldering us, no smiles save one from the bus boy. Food took an inordinate amount of time and the waitress took our bread plates BEFORE serving the entrees. Appetizer and entrees had NO cheddar cheese in them, but there WAS cheddar at the bottom of the appetizer and randomly throughout it. During our wait and then dining, staff were hard to find yet were also seen gesturing towards us and then huffing off, although at that point we had not yet complained about the food. I completely lost my appetite when the bus boy was forced to bring cleaning materials and bucket passed our table.
