China Gourmet Takeout — Restaurant in Toronto

I ordered from them to have food delivered, and they said under an hour. An hour went by...no food. I called after about an hour and ten minutes and was told the driver was almost there. An hour and a half go by and still no food. I call again and say where is my food? They said "it's on it's way", and I said "that's what you told me twenty minutes ago, it's been an hour and a half since I ordered and I was told it would be UNDER an hour, and twenty minutes ago I was told it would be there soon and it's still not." They asked me to wait and then came back and said it would be another 15 minutes, after twice lying to me about the driver being close. I asked if the order would be free, and was not given a response, just silence. I asked again and was told no. I was not even offered a discount. Another 20 minutes go by and finally the driver arrives with the food, nearly TWO HOURS after it was ordered. I was originally told under an hour, then was told three times that it was either close or 15 minutes away and they never met ANY of those estimates. When the food arrived I said this was the longest I have ever waited for food in my life and that it better be free. It was not free. I paid and said they would never get my business again. It wasn't just that it was horrifically slow, it's that I was lied to multiple times and told the driver was close when he had clearly not even left yet, and then after all that I was not only NOT offered a free meal, I was not even offered a discount AT ALL. This was the single worst delivery experience of my life and I will not go back without an apology and some offer of a deal for our troubles. And I will keep writing negative reviews from as many sites as I can find until they either do the right thing or go out of business. I am Totally disgusted in this restaurant. I order my order. They got the order wrong and then I get home and I'm looking at the price. And I'm looking at the menu. The menu price would have been $66 after taxes. They charge me 75 sisteve and I found the restaurant and the lady tells me that. The prices in the menu are not the prices. Well, that's just ridiculous when she gives me the prices over the phone because she overcharged me well over $10 more than what I should have spent and the rice went up $4 almost every meal. Every single meal was up 3 to $4 and she forgot to even add something I ordered. And said, I didn't order it when I know I did so I wasn't happy about that and so what really bugs me is restaurants that I've been a steady customer now for 3 years and support these this you know, company and the first chance to get to start gouging you. It's me the one who supports them day and a Day Out who has to pay this ridiculous price. A quarter of rice up $4. I realize rice is gonna be part of terror and what not, but they are not at. The present time been affected, so they're just raising their prices to be greedy business owners. And that is gotta be about the worst thing that makes me sick to my stomach is greed. That's the worst thing the bothers me is greed and these people are greedy and. People I wish you guys would all start being way more picky on who you do business with and how you do business.Because these companies don't deserve our hardened.Money to go for a treat every once in a while for a family and be completely ripped off.And furthermore, the Chinese food at this place is mediocre best.I found that my food this time around was slightly under mediocre.So I was doubly upset and that's why I I personally will never go to this...

I have only order take out so I can’t base my review off of the service or atmosphere but I def get a good feeling when you go there. There’s an older man that is super friendly and nice and a younger lady (maybe guessing it’s his daughter) but seems like a really family oriented restaurant.

Now when it comes to the food, I see so many mixed reviews. I’m not sure if you guys are just hating to being their rating down or maybe I just happened to order all dishes but I highly doubt that. I ordered chicken wings Chilli chicken Chicken fried rice Cantonese chow mein Chicken balls Beef and broccoli Spring rolls And won ton soups

Let me just say that the chicken balls and rice are insanely delicious. The chicken ball ration of meat to breading is amazing, and they are so soft and flavourful. The rice has veggies, onions and again yummy flavour. The chilli chicken wasn’t breaded like I’m use to and it was actually better. So yummy. Everything was actually perfect. I’m super happy I found this place on Uber eats, it will def be my go to place for take out Chinese food. The only thing I would say is the chow mein could def be better but I’m still not complying because alllllll the other was exceptionally delicious. I feel you guys are actually writing bad reviews to hate in them and it’s not right. Write honest reviews.

Ps. My little daughter is super picky and only eats rice and chicken wings from selected places and she even said it’s better than her favourite spot. And if you check my review I am a honest reviewer. I say it how it is.
