This is one of the worst restaurants that we have ever been to. I had bugs in my food. The whole experience was terrible. We entered the restaurant at 9:31 p.m. and left at 11:06pm. The service was horrible as we waited more than 15 minutes and nobody showed up at our table. We advised the lady in the front about it, and quickly the server Christina came and said there was some miscommunication. Finally, we ordered our food: Thai stir fry, fish N chips, and chicken fettuccine. The food came after a long time, and instead of chicken fettuccine, the waitress brought the wrong dish "Sizzling Chicken Fajitas". I advise the waitress that it is OK. While eating the first fajita, I saw a bug crawling on the table. Then, when we opened the black container which had the other Fajitas, we saw underneath the Fajitas numerous alive bugs that were crawling in the container. Advised our server about the situation and she saw the bugs also alive. She said she was sorry but the whole experience was awful. She said I can change the container of fajitas. She was not concerned that the chicken with the toppings could have bugs. I asked her to take everything and ordered Greek souvlaki instead. The food came so late that my family had eaten already and this was such an inconvenience. Thirdly, when I got the bill, our server showed no empathy and presented the bill by charging me for the full meal. She did not take into consideration that my meal had bugs and I had eaten it without realizing the bugs were in the food. She did not take into consideration the inconvenience that she caused. She did not give a free meal or discount for the inconvenience. I advised her to ask her manager to give me some discounts or see what could be done. The manager advised her to give me only 20% off. Lastly, when paying the bill, Christina handed me the POS machine, which she had already programmed to 20% tip even though it had 15% and other options. Our server, Christina, was more interested in getting a huge tip and did not provide the best service. The overall experience was terrible, and I also looked at other reviews where people said they had bugs in their food and hair. I experienced a similar situation and witnessed it with my own eyes. I will never go back to that restaurant again and will never recommend it to family and friends. I think Public Health should look into the reviews and also investigate the bug issue as this will make many people sick. I am still terrified with...
Read moreThis review is long overdue but for some reason I felt bad leaving a bad review. My best friend and I used to come here regularly during the day, sit at the bar, try various whiskey and eat lunch. The man at the bar was always so nice and knowledgeable.
My last visit was with my wife and sat a booth. The bartender recognized me and said hi.
I ordered a burger from the server. I took my first bite to see if it was cooked through as anyone would know if beef is ground, it must be cooked throughly at at an internal temperature of 165 Fahrenheit. It was cooked through. As I kept eating though, the other part of the burger was red inside. Not sure if the patty was on the edge of the grill but whatever the cause, I stopped eating it but I could not be sure how much of the red ground beef I already ate. When the server came by to see if we were done, I showed her the undercooked red ground beef. She didn’t say anything in reply. I had eaten most of the burger before I realized there was an undercooked area of the burger patty.
4 days later I got extremely sick (gastrointestinal issues) and it lasted for 13 days.
I then called the restaurant and spoke to a woman who was the manager. She told me it is impossible to get sick from undercooked ground beef! Unbelievable that a manager at a restaurant does not know you can get food poisoning from undercooked ground meat. Then she said no one else complained of undercooked burger that day! Again it doesn’t mean every burger that day was undercooked. I was shocked by her lack of knowledge of basic food preparation and customer service.
This occurred just before the pandemic started. We used to spend hundreds of dollars here drinking whiskeys and eating there regularly. I never had an issue before this but this was the first time ordering a burger at this location. Because of the manager’s words, we have never returned to this location or other Fox and Fiddle location for...
Read moreShowed up at lunch, with a large group, to celebrate the birth of a friend's daughter. Because we were a large group (about 20), we ordered in advance the day before, and faxed in the order. We pointed out that some of us had meetings and would have to leave at 1pm.
We arrived at noon (some of us earlier), were seated, and told the waitress about the two who'd pre-ordered that couldn't make it, so we'd get theirs to go. And then we waited. And waited. And waited.
Twenty minutes in, we asked when they'd start serving. "It shouldn't be long now".
At the thirty minute mark, the first meal arrived. Unfortunately, it was for one of the two orders that were for take out.
At the forty one minute mark, the second meal arrived. It was for the other take out order.
At ten to one, I flagged down our waitress, pointed out that we'd been waiting for over three quarters of an hour, and that many people would have to leave by 1pm. Without even glancing at her watch she said "oh, it should be here soon". At 12:53, the first food for the table started to appear. Of course, some meals didn't show up until 1:10, ten minutes after we were expecting to leave. I got my meal 19 minutes before one of my friends, who ordered he exact same dish as I had.
Some people's food was cold (maybe it was sitting in the kitchen for three quarters of an hour? who knows), but "we've got to get out of here, so just take what you get" was the attitude.
Of course, because of this, everyone had to wolf their food down because of the slow, slow service. I can only imagine how bad it would have been if we had NOT prearranged a day ahead of time to send them all the orders, specifically to speed things up.
Would...
