Went there for my reservation today at 5:30. Went for the robots & to check it out. Didn’t expect to have such a horrible experience. The food quality was horrible. I eat a lot of sushi & if you want quality sushi go elsewhere. Service was great & quick, not going to lie. But the food was as if it was pulled out of a freezer. My girlfriend almost puked eating the tempura & shrimp dumplings. We both lost our appetite after eating the following: 3 pieces of Crab Sushi, 2 calamari, 3 scallops, 1 shrimp dumpling & 1 spring roll. We each ate 2 pieces sushi before we couldn’t handle it any longer. Never before have I ever complained to a manager in a restaurant but today was just unacceptable. I spoke to the manager, Fiona, and asked if we could pay for one order as we barely ate or if we could pay for what we ate. My intention was never to not pay because my morals are better than that but I definitely know that the food was not worth my money. She said she would just charge us for leftover food and I said that’s fine. She then comes back with the bill for a charge of all the leftover food as well as 2 dinner buffets. I called her back and discussed why I don’t feel like I should be paying full price when all I ate was maybe five dollars worth of food. All the food was cold and stale. Nothing tasted good. I understand others have had good experiences at this place but my experience was horrific. After trying to explain to her she was very unreasonable and did not see my point of view whatsoever. I got fed up of arguing and just paid $70 to eat five dollars worth of food. This place was recommended to me by A friend and as soon as leaving this place I had to tell him never to go again. I informed all friends and family about this place and said take your money elsewhere. And my experience was so bad I felt like that wasn’t enough and I had to post a review on this place. I highly suggest not going here and going somewhere else for a robotic experience. There’s other places in Toronto that you can visit and I guarantee that their customer service and food is probably way better. It’s 4 hours later & I feel sick. Will definitely see in the morning if I have food poisoning & provide an update. Don’t waste your money. This place is horrible. Robots are cool but the workers literally push them around. Not even worth the experience in my opinion. Please go somewhere else & save your stomach, time, & money. This was definitely the worst sushi AND food experience I’ve ever had in my life. Don’t even wanna give them 1 star but 0 is not an option. I never write reviews but had to get online for this place. An Absolutely disgusting...
Read moreAfter I saw my friend went to this sushi AYCE with robots, we have decided to come check it out too! This was located at the same unit as the old "Spoon & Fork", the inner decors were almost the same as the old name. When you first entered the restaurant, there were two robot mannequins to greet you once activated by motion. However, the hands of the mannequins were f**ked up as if it got twisted by others. It was not a pleasant sight to see when you first come in to a restaurant. Second of all, the voice of the mannequins was just not soothing. Anyways, there were two cute little robots to guide you to your table once it was computerized. Our guide had a little glitch after sending us to the table and wouldn't want to leave, hence it got in our way to get seated.
We were given an ipad to order, and we have ordered so much food in our first round. However, I just don't understand how you could miss orders when ordering with an ipad! Most of our orders came but some didn't. As well, on the screen it said that the food item was 2 pc per order but it only had 1 pc when arrived. The sashimi was fresh, torched sushi was mediocre, the hot foods though.... meh... let's just say I have had way better- too oily, too sweet and you get more fat than actual meat.
The services... Let's just sum it up with this "Can you get someone who understands more English"? Some waitress, you informed them that some items were missing from your order and they looked as if they understand and replied with "Let me check for you", it turned out, she asked her colleague to come and ask the same damn question =.= REALLY?! If you don't understand English, tell me and I would gladly speak in your native language but I shouldn't have to.
Overall, really overpriced for what you are going to get in return except the whole robot gimmick. The only time you would see the robots were when they first guide you and OCCASIONALLY you would hear the tune of "Cannon in D" then the server robot would bring you food, otherwise it's just like any other AYCE sushi place. For $34 per person on weekends, I would much rather have AYCE BBQ.
I am definitely not coming back even though they have cute little robots. I will not be fooled by the gimmick when it's just like the rest of the AYCE sushi place. There are much much better AYCE sushi...
Read moreIf I could rate this restaurant 0 I would . Me and my fiancé came in thinking this place is nice restaurant to celebrate her birthday . The food poison and made her unwell . After telling this to the supervisor going back and forth . I agreed to pay for the things we ate . Because my objective to come to a restaurant to enjoy the food. Not to have free food . That’s what the owner thinks .there multiple reviews here saying the food is dry and bad . He agreed too . Then he came back and said no . We have to charge you for the full bill “ all you can eat” the food was VERY VERY BAD. I don’t even have sushi often and I think it was bad . My finance had sushi all the time. We only ate for 10 minutes. The SUSHI Food was BAD. After 35 minutes. The owner called and said pay for what you ate . I paid 63$ for ten minutes and the food made my lady feel unwell ON HER BIRTHDAY. We went next door and we order dinner AGAIN at DARBANG Restaurant. You literally ROBBED ME OFF 63$ .
The food was VERY BAD SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE and the owner is NOT a good HOST . I have been to so many restaurants.shame on this restaurant .10 minutes I paid 63$ instead of 88 dollars .
Here a receipt of next door dinner we went too . Shame on an establishment like yours . I will contact the business bureau and report you . I been to ALOT RESTAURANT. I never been treated like this on a special occasion. I paid $45 I will upload the receipts SOON . It’s on my fiancé phone. You can reach out to me and refund me. That’s the least you can do . The receipt of next restaurant and you can look at the time . It’s A SHAME that the owner talks to the customer after hearing our dissatisfaction . You still trying to charge us for the Carb leg . Which initial was free (complementary) in the beginning . I will NEVER eat here AGAIN. There other sushi places nearby . Horrible service bad food and not a good environment. To the Owner thinking we were there for free food . Shame on you for ruining my fiancé birthday . She actually cried when we went to the other restaurant. DONT waste your time going to this...
