My friend from upstate New York State visited me today, and I wanted to show her the most “authentic” Toronto living experience, so I took her to all the good snack spots I frequently visit, like Takoyaki6, Juicy Dumpling, crumbs patty & Nom Nom poutine. We passed by the Corner Crepe at one point - I thought about how other my friends had recommended the spot to me before, so I decided to give it a shot with my friend from NY. All I can say is wow—that was impressive.
We got the Spicy Chicken instead because they ran out of the Traditional. It was super delicious - the crepe was flavourful with the egg layer (my friend was not the biggest fan doe), and the thin Chinese donut inside provided a nice, dynamic, crispy texture. The crepe was also full of delicious spicy chicken with some pleasant sweet soy sauce. It was super addictive, and you can’t stop eating once you started. Portion-wise, it was also perfect - less than 10 dollars you got this super massive crepe wrap that is good for two people to share. This spot has undoubtedly made it to my permanent best food spots in Toronto & I’ll be back again and again.
Aside from the delicious food, the Chinese lady running the stand was super nice & friendly too. I loved...
Read moreThe food was yummy, it was made fresh to order in an authentic way. Ordering from a hole in the wall reminded me of my trip to Tianjin.
I did have a large hiccup with the owner which soured the whole experience, where she charged me close to double the listed price for the crepe ($13 for a $7 crepe). When I asked her why my crepe had costed more than the listed price she suddenly wasn't able to speak English any longer, even though she was fluent until that point. Luckily there were two other guests there that could speak Mandarin and they helped me resolve the situation. Even though the error was clear and I had two people helping me, there was still lots of resistance to resolving the situation.
If you can't speak Mandarin, and probably even if you can, I would watch out for yourself when coming here because the lady looks to be quite the shark. Double check the total, and it's probably best to come with exact change to avoid any...

Got the traditional $6.99 ($7.90) with tax. Highly recommend if you need a budget meal or if you wish to try their other stuff ($13-15) While I do agree, it's on the pricier side, regrettably it comes with the territory.
The crepe was light, crispy and not too salty. Mama asked me if I would like it spicy and it gives the meal an overall nice warmth to it. Ate half and I'm surprisingly full! Give it a try if you're in the neighbourhood - please support local and please support the elderly working in F&B 🙏🏻
FYI: Their egg batter (without asking for adjustments) does come with Cilantro - that is my fault. I should...
