If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. We came to this restaurant for lunch and left with disappointment. The restaurant seemed nice but the food was mediocre. The prices did not reflect the quality nor did it reflect the quantity of the food we received. The woman who served us was respectful and patient, whereas the male chef was disrespectful, impatient, and aggressive towards the end of our meal. When it came to the bill, we paid the supposed amount but the chef insisted that we were incorrect which led to us recounting our money numerous times. He gave us the impression that we had done the math wrong, but in reality, we were correct all along. After yelling at us about the “incorrect” amount, he implied that we were incapable of doing simple math, making us feel stupid and embarrassed. When he counted our money once again, he realized that we had actually paid the right amount; however, he did not acknowledge his mistake and started to yell at us saying that we were bad customers, to not come back to his restaurant and that they do not serve those who do not tip. We had the intention of tipping but did not end up following through because of how aggressive and rude he was to us. In conclusion, we do not recommend this restaurant and would not visit again due to poor customer service and unnecessary...
Read moreDaon Sushi is honestly one of the cleanest and most peaceful restaurants my wife and I have been to. You can feel how much care goes into everything!! Tables are set perfectly and the sushi is plated beautifully. The atmosphere feels calm and traditional. Let me tell you it is hard to find a reasonably priced restaurant where we feel calm. The owner gave us great advice, clearly with our best interests in mind, rather than for him to make more money. He’s very kind and generous making the whole experience much more special.
The food exceed our expectations. The sushi options were very unique, fresh, well plated, and tasted absolutely delicious! A number in our group said this was the best sushi they had ever tasted. We greatly appreciated non sushi options such as poke and don bowls, soups, udon noodle, salads. This was criical for our families diverse taste palate.
The prices are reasonable. Above all, the service was excellent! Despite the owner running the restaurant alone doing every task the service was fast. You can tell he takes pride in her restaurant. It’s definitely the kind of place you want to keep coming back to!
Highly recommend this hidden gem that deserves more attention and...
Read moreDaon Sushi is tucked in the very back corner of the plaza and it's quite a small space inside. It's run by a husband and wife duo who have figured out how to work together collaboratively and effectively. They're very sweet and it's fun to watch them work.
We came here for dinner and tried the beef teriyaki bento and sashimi bento. The beef teriyaki was pan fried beef slices with a squeeze of teriyaki sauce over it so it wasn't very hot though the beef was tender. The sashimi bento came with mostly salmon sashimi with one slice of red tuna. It seems this spot primarily serves salmon for their sashimi/sushi combo dishes which isn't ideal for me since I prefer the variety. Our sashimi wasn't sliced very cleanly so a few of the slices were still connected to one another. Lastly, we got a cold spring roll with the sashimi bento which was super surprising but the owner was kind enough to replace it with 2 freshly fried (and hot!) spring rolls.
Overall, this spot doesn't stand out but the prices are very fair, the owners are lovely, and if you love salmon sashimi this spot is...
