Last Friday night, my roommates and I decided to satisfy our dessert cravings at Demetres, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. We got there around 10 PM, and while the place was quite busy (as expected for a Friday night), we didn’t have to wait too long to get a table. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm ambiance and the heavenly aroma of cakes and desserts. It felt like stepping into dessert paradise.
The ambiance at Demetres is absolutely amazing. The lighting, decor, and overall vibe are perfect for hanging out with friends or even for a quiet date. There’s something so cozy yet modern about the place that instantly makes you feel relaxed. The smell of freshly made desserts floating through the air made us want to order everything on the menu. It was that tempting!
Our server, Jerri, deserves a special shoutout. She was incredibly sweet, polite, and always had a warm smile on her face. Even though the restaurant was busy, she made us feel like we were her priority. Whether it was refilling our water, checking in to see if we needed anything, or just being super approachable, Jerri ensured that our experience was nothing short of perfect.
Being a group of five, we went all out and ordered a variety of desserts: Choc This Way, Red Velvet Cheesecake, Chocolate Cake, Hot Couture with Milk Chocolate, and a Honey Vanilla Scoop. For some of us, it was our first time at Demetres, so there was a lot of excitement. The desserts arrived, and they looked like pieces of art almost too beautiful to eat! But as soon as we took the first bite, we were in heaven. The flavors were rich and indulgent, and the textures were just perfect. Demetres truly knows how to create desserts that feel like a hug for your soul.
The portions are generous, and honestly, the desserts are so rich that they’re best shared. But we were feeling adventurous and ordered one dessert per person. By the time we were halfway through, we were already full, but the desserts were so good that we just couldn’t let anything go to waste. It was one of those “eyes bigger than the stomach” moments, and we ended up finishing everything. Safe to say, we left the restaurant in a happy dessert coma!
What stood out the most was the attention to detail not just in the food but in the service as well. Jerri made sure we were comfortable throughout and even helped us with recommendations when we couldn’t decide. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both exceptional food and service, but Demetres nailed it.
Overall, our experience at Demetres was nothing short of fantastic. If you’re looking for a place to indulge in high-quality desserts in a great ambiance, this is it. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, you’re bound to fall in love with their offerings. We’ll definitely be visiting again soon, and we can’t wait to try more from their menu.
Thank you, Demetres, and a big thanks to Jerri for making our night...
Read moreRecently visited this location. Have been to mississauga and Brampton locations as allways but this time being in the area decided to go there and along with me took family who have never been to the Dimitri’s before. We generally order one scoop which is good quantity. However this location when we ordered the same, the quantity was less and was served in smaller bowl. After having our first order in smaller bowls, I ordered one more ice cream that was ordered in actually one, there was huge difference in quantity. When I asked the manager he stated that they ran out of serving bowls and that’s why they used other ones. I asked him the quantity was less in these ones but he blatantly denied. There is now way you can seven same scoop size in the small one without dropping the ice cream off the sides of the top of small one. You can see pictures. Apparently I didn’t even ask for any discount or anything. The manager named David came and being rude and failed to acknowledge our concern. He was argumentative and rude in tone. I the asked him if it’s same size then tell me the amount (ml) the small container base vs the normal one that gets served at other locations. He didn’t knew the amount each takes. I asked him even if the same scoop was used then how can ice cream didn’t fill up the small one vs the regular glass one. The server that initially served us was fine by then. Very disappointing service at this location. So if you do go there and they serve your single scoop in alternate bowl do ensure you get same quantity. I didn’t want to escalate the matter there as we with family else I would have asked him to fit in same scoop in both containers. I didn’t took pictures with full ice cream in both containers but can see...
Read moreBefore visiting here, I had only ordered delivery through Uber Eats a few times, so I was surprised to find it was a full-service restaurant upon arrival. The restaurant was larger than I expected, with many employees, and most of the hosts and staff were reasonably friendly.
As I knew, the menu was extensive with many items I wanted to try, so I ordered a variety of dishes. However, I felt that most of them tasted quite similar. As expected, they were very sweet, and the portions were quite large, though considering the price, maybe not overly so.
The waffle cone was incredibly delicious, and the ice cream was not bad, about average. Unfortunately, the fruits, especially the strawberries, were not very fresh. When you come to a dessert specialty shop and pay this price, you expect a certain level of quality, but the strawberries were so mushy that I didn't eat more than one bite.
If I had to pick the best part, it would be the speed of service. The banana split was served in about 3minutes, and most of the other desserts came out within 10 minutes.
The most disappointing part was that the dessert plates and cups were all served hot, as if they had just come out of the dishwasher, which resulted in my ice cream being half melted by the time it was served. I think this is an issue that needs some improvement.
Overall, the service and atmosphere were generally good, but the quality of the food could use a bit...
