As most of my friends know, I am a HUGE Dolce fan. I did leave a great review for their Kensington location, and honestly would have loved to replicate for this one too . . .unfortunately I do not think I can close my eyes this time around.

My wife and I visited Dolce during Taste of The Danforth. It was somewhat busy, but not as crazy as you would expect it to be in a night like that (roughly 6 or so people waiting in line in front of us when we arrived).

While I generally stick to my favourite flavours, I did want to try something new this time around. We were checking out the ice cream flavours to get some inspiration, when sadly we were "scolded away" by a pretty rude blonde landing standing on the other side of the fridge: "You have to pay first and then choose flavours", she said. We were just watching from a distance, no reason to be rude.

In any case, we ended up paying first and then ordering. Though she did continue to give us "death glares" as my wife calls them, throughout the whole time we were there

It might be because of this bad experience, but I also found the Gelato to be a little off. I ordered Stracciatella and Pistacchio, and both flavours basically tasted the same: too sweetie and just not creamy enough.

I will DEFINITELY be back to Dolce, but I won't be back to this location. Staffing needs some training, or maybe a...

Their prime location & self-proclaimed "Best Gelato in Town" statement is what draws the crowd. We've enjoyed real gelato in Italy in several different towns and cities. Outside of Italy, we lower our expectations. We tried many flavours @ Dolce Gelato, mentionable are espresso & passionfruit.

Update: doubt we would continue supporting this business. The service we received by the male employee 2022-06-16 was absolutely absurd. My group and I have never been unfortunate to be the victims of such an inept employee. We walked the back of the store, waited in line like everyone else. When it was our turn, he accused us of cutting the line & and almost refused to serve us before he said "whatever". He continued with his unfounded claim by he apologizing to the patrons waiting in line behind us. We are honest, hardworking professionals and do not take kindly to being accused of LIEING. Perhaps he was confused, maybe it was a really long day but he completely soured our experience....

Great gelato selections but the customer service is horrible! Ladies behind the counter gave me attitude when asking for samples...I asked for 4 different samples trying to determine which sorbet had less sugar...some fruit sugars are too intolerable and I cant eat the sorbet and it's a waste of my money.

So enjoying our gelato and we realize that they are closed by the staff turning off one set of the lights...that's fine. 5mins later one of the staffers decided instead of politely telling the paying customers that pays for your wages that "we are closed now" she thought it was a brilliant idea to turn up the radio playing in the background to gee...I dont know... from volume 10 to volume 30 so you couldn't hear your own self talk at all!

So that's ok right?!? Nothing polite? Of course not cause you were the same one that rolled your eyes at me when I asked for the samples. Misery will always be your friend...have a...

A friend of mine suggested I come here because I was just around the corner, and I’m so glad that I did. They have such a large variety of flavors, both dairy kinds and fruity kinds. I got the passion fruit, it is so so good, I love the seats inside. They are such a nice tiny little crunch. I am giving them a five for service has the gentleman who works here offered to bring me my coffee outside, which is where I wanted to wait, while he dealt with the rest of a little rush that was going on. However, there was one staff member, who was not very pleasant. I gave a four for atmosphere because they could use one more little table outside for their patrons. Overall, I would, and will return for a gelato hear whether or not I am in the area! I’m happy settling this review at a five star.

Yesterday I was delighted to spot what looked like a fabulous ice cream shop. Being a bit of a connoiseur I looked forward to my treat. The only name that rang a bell unfortunately was "orange sorbet", tangy and cold on a hot day. Sweet. I asked for a large. I can't describe the surprise I got when handed something that looked like a sex toy. It was covered in a gooey plasticy substance that tasted strongly of fake orange flavour, inside was the most tasteless ice cream I've ever had the misfortune to buy. I didn't even taste the cone although it looked old and uninteresting. I tossed it into a litter bin. Oh and by the way this cost me $7.25. Nice.
