The ice cream is good, as is the sorbet. However the service even when not busy leaves alot to be desired. This review is heavily effected by that service.
Was in last week with the wife. Browsed for what we wanted. Saw some great strawberry and mango flavors and got in line. We where greated with a "what do you want.?"
Now had this just been me in line that would have been that and I would have left. However with the wife I just decided no it's fine we will just power through this. So we excitingly asked for the sorbet and which the girl behind the counter gave a slight huff presumably because she had to now walk over to the sorbet display .
The display itself could have used some love. I do not know if it is policy or not to use different spades for different flavors because each delicious flavor was smeared with other flavors. Both of the flavors we recieved had scrapes of other flavors on them .
The grumpy counter person handed us our frozen treats, entered the amount of 14$ and we where prompted for a tip option. Fastest 0$ I have ever pressed in my life.
Honestly. Leave your problems at home. If you can not even be bothered to great customers with a " Hi guys what can I get for you.".
It's good ice cream. But I will be going to Honeys from now on. The service is severely lacking.

Read moreI've heard from several sources that Ed's is the place to go for the best gelato in the GTA. With no intention of going there that night, we realized that the restaurant we chose for dinner was next door to Ed's, so we had to go. Apparently the most popular flavours are the burned marshmallow and the creme brûlée, which was what I determined I would get. Despite being stuffed from dinner, we still had to get some. It wasn't too busy, but people kept flowing in. The variety of flavours were overwhelming. I was too full to try both the flavours I intended to get, so I settled for the burned marshmallow. This was a plain vanilla gelato from which you would get random pieces of burned marshmallow bites. It was amazing! I do have to point out that I tried the burned marshmallow gelato at Greg's ice cream in Toronto, and kinda preferred that, since their entire gelato was the flavour of burned marshmallow rather than just pieces dispersed in vanilla. I guess it depends on your mood, whether you want really sweet or simple. Nevertheless, Ed's gelato was creamy and delicious and don't even get me started on the waffle cone- It was delicious enough to eat on it's own! I'll definitely have to go back to Ed's to try the creme...
Read moreI’m someone who loves gelato and have tried many different stores. Tonight, I decided to try the gelato from this particular store and ordered the wild berry flavor. However, I was disappointed for three main reasons:
First, as soon as I opened it, the color disappointed me. I’ve never seen wild berry gelato that looked so plain—what kind of berries would result in a whitish color?
Secondly, the taste upset me. It tasted more like a mixture of milk and sugar than anything resembling wild berries.
Third, I noticed that the store had placed a new label on top of the original one. When I removed the top label (which said "Wild Berry Gelato"), the label underneath said "Vanilla Bean."
I’m not sure if the gelato I received was actually vanilla bean, with the wild berry label just placed over it, or if it was truly wild berry gelato. In either case, my first experience with this store was disappointing.
I couldn’t eat it and kept it as evidence, just in case I need it to support my claim, whether it be for the recipe or for a picture.
Thanks for taking the time...
