I went here for the first time today because it’s not far from me and looks cute. I went in and it was clear it was my first time, as I was unaware of the cup policy. I ordered a matcha rose late and it was very pretty, but light green. It basically just tasted like milk and I could barely taste the rose, which is crazy because it’s $1 more than the regular matcha latte. It was also served warm, not hot. I could literally chug it down. I would not recommend their matcha, but I didn’t order anything else. Go somewhere else for matcha, since you can’t taste it here.
I went to the counter to ask where to put my cup. The server very rudely responded “it’s around the back corner.” The place it’s kept is not visible upon entrance, you’d only know if you have been there before. I looked around and I had to search for it before putting my cup away. I’m not expecting my cup to be taken from the table, which is why I got up, but why ask for tips if the staff calls you to get your order and then responds rudely and vaguely?
FYI, it’s cool that they don’t have any disposable cups, but just warning you if you’re going there for takeout, which was my intention, I just didn’t know. It was my first time there but they there rude and treated me like I should already know. You can take the glass cup home with you free of charge, which is cool! Just not the best place for a takeout drink.

Read moreThis place is a gem, in the neighborhood, great atmosphere, fantastic service and great coffee and snacks. They also provide a great collection of artisan craft products like soaps candles, balms, and they employ very sustainable environmentally conscious service methods. The only single gripe I have that influences my 4 star rating instead of a 6 out of 5 is the terribly ignorant and unfortunate policy of turning customers away who want to pay with cash. I had no idea this was a cashless location untill after ordering. I still tipped well and appreciated the service provided, but I will not likely return. I, personally, think it's a bit short sighted of the ownership, but they might not be aware how many of their potential clients are lost to this ugly and elitist policy, I saw 3 customers turned away, 1 in store and 2 that turned around when they saw the cashless signage display arrogantly on the door. It may not be an issue for many, I happen to recognise that it's a bigger issue and do very much feel strongly enough for it to influence how or where I patronize. I hope that ownership might one day give greater consideration to this terribly discriminating policy, and the horrible degradation to free comerce that...
Read morePoured coffee is my favourite coffee shop in the city right now. I've been coming here for about a year and it's the exceptional lattes that bring me back again and again. They also have a great baker - I love their cheese croissants. The no waste concept definitely helps! I get to bring in my favourite mug and for the croissant I usually take it in my (sanitized) hand, as it gets devoured pretty quickly anyway, but you can have it in a plate if you are sitting there or bring your own container. I sometimes bring my 7 year old son with me and they even have a 'kids latte' in addition to the usual hot chocolate for kids. If you don't bring a mug with you, they have ceramic mugs that they will loan out to you! I remembered to bring mine back and even donated a few of my own mugs (which were gathering dust in my pantry anyway). Everyone who works there is dedicated, wonderful and friendly and I get the warmest feelings to start my day off right when I go there. Shout-outs to Becks, Mira and Yuri just to name a few! I just hope, selfishly, that it stays a hidden gem and I don't have to fight throngs of people to get my amazing lattes in...
