This place was ultimately disappointing. They market themselves as a nice Italian restaurant which implies quality Italian food. I was pleased with the price of the bruschetta, which was nice. Good blend of spices (generous with the oregano and garlic). The real reason for the 3 stars was the pizza. It was disappointing - tasted like what you’d get at a supermarket. For a restaurant claiming to “specialize in southern Italian cuisine” serving “stone oven pizzas” (quotes from their website) this was an utter embarrassment. The cheese on the pizza was as thick as the dough itself (see the photos). It was sloppily thrown together with the seasonings all over the place. The cheese overpowered everything - I don’t know if I’d even serve this to a child. I don’t like to be too negative. They did have a very nice patio type thing which had nice music. Overall a great vibe. The server was timid but friendly & attentive. No complaints there! The pasta was tasty, but nothing special. Definitely overpriced though! You’d think for $25 you’d get more pasta. If you go here, stay away from the pizza - unless you have the taste buds of an 8 year old.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this cute restaurant. The air conditioning was really nice in this Toronto summer heat. We ordered the insalata caprese, the gnocchi margherita, and the chicken parmigiana. It took a while for the food to come out—at this rate, we were expecting the appetiser and mains to come out all out once. To our surprise, the mains came out first. They were nice and hot. However, in terms of taste, the chicken parm was alright. We wished there was more spaghetti, and the chicken was nothing special—it was thin and had a really weird texture. The gnocchi was good, but nothing spectacular. The caprese came out halfway through finishing out mains. By far, the caprese was our favourite—very fresh, but in my opinion, not worth the price. Overall, it's a nice spot, and they have a cute patio. But the food wasn't our cup of tea.

My wife and I have tried every restaurant in Regent Park and Cabbage town, and this one is one of the best, if not the best. We went here a couple months ago. We were warmly greeted by the owner, seated promptly based on our request, and were waited on hand and foot by the owner himself. The food was delicious. The prices were reasonable for our budget as students (at the time) who like to treat ourselves once in a while. We will be heading back here for birthdays, anniversaries, and when family from out of town visits, we will be treating them at Fusilli! Five star all around.

Worst service ever!!!! I went here with friends and the owner/chef immediately greeted us with rude behaviour because we didn't have reservations. There were no signs at the door stating "reservations only" and when we called earlier that day to ask for the location, the same guy didn't mention we had to book reservations. As soon as he sat us down, he immediately helped to tend to another table. He didn't even bother to give us a food or drink menu. He came back moments later and asked us what we want for drinks. Our response was "water for 4 but may we see the drink menu please". The man proceeds to not answer and rudely grabs all four wine glasses off the table assuming none of us were going to order wine. Maybe he thought because we were younger than all of his customers that he assumed we couldn't afford his menu?? I could be wrong but it sure felt like that.

I was originally going to order a bottle as I love to pair my pizza with wine but after the aggressive behaviour we received from him, I decided to settle for an $8 cocktail. I would not spend $50-$60 on a wine bottle for a man who can't run his restaurant without disrespect, attitude and discrimination towards his own paying customers.

He eventually took our food and drink orders and we waited more than 20min for our food to arrive. This may seem a little average for a busy restaurant but there were only two other tables besides ours in the whole place. My friends and I noticed he treats his older customers differently. He hugs them and smiles at them. But we gathered from the conversations and name-drops we heard, they were his friends. Which makes us wonder if he treats all customers he doesn't know the same way he treated us. The only time we got a smile from the man was when he passed us the bill and the card machine. A little tactic I learned as a server to persuade customers in giving more tip money. That didn't work on me...the damage was done.

Overall, the food was just ok. Nothing out of the ordinary. The cocktail was a little too sweet, almost like an orange juice mixed with a shot of vodka. Nothing special! You can find the same taste and quality of pasta and pizza anywhere else with better service and treatment. Spend your hard earned money on a place that treats all customers equally! I hope this review was very helpful and I hope if this man reads this that he changes his attitude towards...
