A cozy, romantic evening from start to finish 🍷✨
We came here for a Friends & Family dinner and it turned out to be such a beautiful experience. The place has a warm, intimate vibe — soft lighting, a marble counter facing the open kitchen, and chefs cooking with such focus that you can really feel their passion 👨🍳💛
We started with the Beetroot Salad 🥗, refreshing and earthy with creamy goat cheese and walnut butter. Then the Salmon Tartare 🐟 — bright, fresh, and full of texture with apple and yuzu emulsion. The Roasted Scallop 🐚 was another highlight — tender and comforting with miso purée, pancetta, and croutons.
For mains, I had the Charcoal Grilled Cod 🐠, smoky and delicate with autumn squash, pumpkin seeds, and saffron velouté — absolutely perfect.
My friend ordered the Canadian Striploin 🥩, beautifully cooked with creamed kale and caramelized shallots.
To finish, the Toasted Pavlova with red plum and lemon verbena was light and dreamy, while the Chocolate Cake 🍫 with Earl Grey chantilly was pure indulgence.
Everything from the food to the atmosphere felt thoughtful and full of heart. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, smile, and just enjoy the moment. Truly one of my favorite dining experiences in Toronto ❤️
Prices are very reasonable for the quality and experience 💰. Street parking is limited 🚗, so public transit is definitely easier 🚋. Truly one of my favorite cozy dining spots...
Read moreWe were excited to try this new restaurant in our neighborhood. We were so disappointed. The two appetizers were ordered - the leeks and the panisse - were okay, but our two mains were terrible. The iberico pork was cooked perfectly and tender but tasted like fish..perhaps from being cooked on the same grill or pan as their many fish dishes. And the denver steak, which they did tell us was a tougher cut of meat, was overly fatty and indeed tough despite being medium as they recommended, and it tasted very bland as though not seasoned at all. The jus it was served with was sharp tasting but we could not identify what it was supposed to be - blueberries? raspberry? Not sure. We tried one each of the desserts on offer. The chocolate parfait was too thick and sweet..the apple tart tatin was the best dish of our meal however. It was the only dish we would call delicious. The white wine we ordered to accompany our starters was not the wine we received, even though it was very good. I asked about it when it was served, and the waiter said rather curtly "take a small sip and if you don't like it I'll take it away and you can try something else." We thought the design of the space was beautiful, but were glad to leave because the open kitchen has insufficient venting and we constantly smelled fish cooking. Perhaps they were just having an off night. But we will...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience at the Rosebud on Saturday night. We came on a friend's recommendation and we left incredibly happy with our meal. We got the Chef's Tasting Menu and all the dishes were delicious, thoughtfully made, and we left stuffed by the end. Special highlights was the scallop that came in a chowder which took us by surprise in the most wonderful way and the moist chocolate cake at the end.
The service was also exceptional, across our servers and the chefs who explained each dish to us and the thought that was put into designing the Rosebud's menu. The chef explained that Rosebud was trying to bridge between fine dining and more approachable spots, and we really felt that come through in the techniques used in the dishes and the level of service that was provided.
We would highly recommend this spot and trying the Chef's...
