TL;DR Good service. Great prices. Free street parking. Open 24 hours. Tasty pulled pork burrito.
Location: It's right on the corner, across from Mary Browns. You'll find paid parking across the street behind the closed BMO but there is free parking on the street of the location as well. The restaurant is modernly designed but nothing fancy. They have about 5 tables inside and another 5 picnic tables outside on their patio.
Service: The attendant was very kind, humble and very helpful with information on the menu. They are open 24 hours a day. From the moment I ordered, to fulfillment of my burrito and fries, it took 10 minutes with an empty restaurant. They accepted cash, credit and debit. They also allowed you to order on their kiosk but there is a 10% off with combos, which didn't seem to apply on their site orders or kiosk. They also have a loyalty program that you can sign up for online. They have washrooms downstairs.
Food: I purchased the "pulled pork burrito with fries" ($12.59) part of their daily special. The burrito was about 5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick. The pulled pork tasted fresh, soft and flavourful. The tortilla was oiled up like a dumpling, and tasted very good. The fries weren't very good, I would recommend skipping them.
Ultimately, I would definitely try this place again. I would want to see what else is good on their menu but I would also get another pulled...
Read moreFirst time visiting Grillies and I loved it. I’ve been on a burrito flex the past month or so where I treat myself to one every week. My latest trek into the city brought me and the significant other into the shop.
Ordered the pulled beef burrito and the lady ordered a chicken siesta salad or something along those lines – I don’t pay much attention to what she gets because she is one of those girls that almost always eats it all. Mine was soooo good. She said hers was awesome as well although she went overboard on the spice. The sign of a good burrito is and always has been (for me anyways) if I have to run to the bathroom any time after consuming. I had a feeling this wouldn’t be the issue based on the fresh taste I was getting and I was right. I seriously could’ve had another burrito or two they were so good.
The young lady helping us Friday afternoon was an absolute gem. She has to be related to the owner or something because oh man she was serving as if it were her own store. Super friendly, happy and courteous. Like seriously if I could hire good people like her the rest of my life I’d be the luckiest guy around. You could tell she was happy to be there and made the food with love. That matters in my books. Definitely made the experience for us and would definitely eat here again in a second.

Read moreWalked in and asked for a nacho platter that comes with ground beef, cheese, and any vegetable toppings. The employee proceeds to ask their coworker for more information and put down our order for nachos and asks for guacamole and sour cream. We receive our order almost 15 minutes later and it’s just plain chips in a small container. Not what we asked for, no problem. The problem, is that when we went in to ask for what we originally ordered, completely ready to pay the difference for the new order, the employee accused us of eating two chips and failing to mention the order including ground beef and cheese and initially refused to allow us to pay the difference for the correct order or allow us a refund. A couple of guys sitting at a table next to the cashier were inebriated and i struck up some conversation with them while waiting for the cashier to “check with her coworker and the till”, and the worker comes back and says that she’s refusing to help us because she “understands english and we were making fun of her.” Absolute ludacrisy as that literally never happened. We had to get nearby customers to vouch for us that it never happened and she completely misunderstood the situation. Horribly handled service by the staff and super unprofessional. Don’t come here the staff are super rude. Never...
