This is one of Parkdale's best kept secrets. It's a small establishment bursting with personality. It's maybe not the place to go with a big group, or if you're in a rush, but if you're looking for a unique coffee/ breakfast experience with an old world charm, then this is a spot worth checking out. I especially love the records they play, the home-made hot sauce and that they have physical newspapers that anyone can read!

Came here a few weeks ago for an iced latte and it did not disappoint! I love the space the owner has curated and how he makes each drink with care. There’s also a back room which would be perfect for reading or catching up with a friend. Definitely come by if you want a great cafe experience!

I am having my first coffee here. A cortado. Good beans. But too cold. Interior design a bit low budget. Neat is the bench in the window, although it takes away from the day light coming in through the shop window.

I came here looking for coffee, and I found something more.

I saw a young man roasting and shaving beans in front of me. I saw him grind coffee. I saw him meticulously pull a shot of espresso. It was delicious, like taking a bite of fruit.

Sipping on my espresso, many thoughts came to my mind. The first thing I thought was how so much of reality was black boxed to us. The entire experience of ordering coffee, in most places, might as well be entirely opaque. No surprise then, that robot coffee storefronts like “RC Coffee” have become popular — it’s a logical conclusion of the independent coffee shop to Starbucks to Fast Food pipeline, where the craft of creating a beverage is diminished into passionless assembly line work. But this place is the opposite. It is a little spaceship piloted by no more than one person at a time, doing it all. The difference, when something is made with a full, undivided heart, is incredible.

I am not a romantic person. But there is something charming about a little establishment like this, which might as well be a garage, using one hundred square feet and nothing more to serve real coffee. May this place be around for a hundred...

Intimate and small, ultra quaint and edgy decor. You may have to wait outside if there's a line, however it's well worth it! I had a matcha latte with oat milk and it was insanely good, and very well prepared right in front of me. My friend enjoy their Americano as well. There's also some local wares for sale, and very cool artwork on display. The gentleman that made our beverages knew his stuff, and was very nice. They sell food too: muffins, sandwiches, cookies, and all kinds of things. I...

Needed a coffee today. Timmy's had a lineup so I went to the next place. Hit the street before I realized my double double was cold. Five seconds with the steamer would've fixed the problem. Nope. Covid. Ten seconds with hot water would've sanitized steamer. Waited fifteen minutes for a fresh pot. This guy had no interest in my replacement. Only one in store. Not surprised. Left with a hot americano. Bitter as hell. The Simple Kitchen was friendly and...
