My coworkers always talk about House on Parliament and how great it is, so I decided to take my boyfriend here for his birthday. I have to say, our experience here was top notch! This is such a great spot. Everything from service, ambiance, and the food.. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot for a birthday dinner.

We came here on a Friday evening, the line was outside the door. I think we waited around 45mins to be seated, but the people waiting in the line were so great. We just ended up chatting up with everyone, which made time fly. Also, the hostess was great! I don’t know how she does it.. she made it look very easy and she was also very nice.

The interior is so lovely! We sat in the back of the restaurant. The seats were very comfortable and we loved the interior. Our server was fantastic! Very professional and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Also very attentive! He was great.

We ordered the following:

Smoked Duck Breast Salad - this was delicious! Definitely a must order if you enjoy duck.

Ancho beef ribs - this was part of the daily fare specials. It was SO good! I love how they change up their menu. If you’re visiting and it’s on the menu, definitely a must order as well.

The Iconic Steak & Stilton Sandwich - I was told that the steak sandwich here was fantastic, so it was a must try. My boyfriend ate this one, since I’m not a big steak sandwich fan. He said it was good, but wouldnt order it again as it wasn’t the favourite dish. If you’re really into steak sandwiches, I would say try to see how it compares to others in the city

To drink, I ordered the smoked Jalapeño margarita to start, I would definitely get that again.

For dessert we ordered the

Guinness Sticky Toffee Pudding and Banoffee. The Banoffee was our favourite! Definitely recommend that if you enjoy banana based desserts.

I’m definitely coming back! I think this is now one of my favourite spots...

Really used to love this spot. It was consistently such a great place until the most recent visit. The first waitress my group and I interacted with was rude, we were told there was going to be a wait which was no issue, but when she called us in to seat us she called out to us in a tone that was similar to calling a dog. We were seated and waiting on one other person to join our group so we went ahead with ordering drinks and food, the drinks got to us in a reasonable time, the food however was a nightmare. We ordered two of the prime rib sandwiches, the spicy chicken sandwich and an order of nachos. When our final person joined us he ordered after us; he also ordered the prime rib sandwich. He got his sandwich first, the rest of the food, including the nachos which were supposed to be an appetizer did not arrive for almost an hour afterwards. Honestly don't think we would have even gotten the food if we didn't pull our waitress aside, to which she almost seemed offended at us asking for an update on our food. When the food came out the nachos were cold and and tough, the two prime rib sandwiches were an absolute mess compared to the first one and were so salty they were almost inedible. Judging by the reaction the waitress gave when we asked where our food was I wouldn't be surprised if it was overly salty on purpose. Honestly very disappointed as we used to eat here often and never had an issue, but after this experience I don't think we'll be back. Not worth the price to wait for mediocre food and not be treated...

It was my first time dining at House of Parliament. We came for birthday celebration, based on suggestion. I had a good feeling about it, especially majority of reviews on Google were good. Great location, love the place! Inside style and outdoor patios are beautiful. Enjoyed every bit of it.

Food was good, nothing impressive at least based on what we have ordered. Not sure if it worth the price or we pay for location. It definately took them about an hour to bring it. Bar on the other hand has good celection of drinks, beer, cocktails.

The worst part of the visit, which left the back taste in the mouth was quality of service. Like many other Google reviews, we got horrible service, which is definitely something you want to avoid during birthday celebration. After placing us at the table they left spray bottle on the middle of it and never took it back (not sure if they finished cleaning), didn't bring water for at least half an hour and never refilled it after. It was close to impossible to find a server when we need one. But these are small things. The worst part was the attitude. Staff were rude, passive aggressive. If you are busy, short staff or have personal issues it doesn't mean you have to pass it on your customers who chose your location among lots of others after a long work day.

I don't say that all staff members of the pub are like this, there are some good Google reviews. Unfortunately, we were served by these ones. I doubt that I will be back as there are many other locations in Cabbage...

Happened by this place while I was in town visiting from the east coast and needed to kill some time before return flight home. OMG - I’m actually sad that this place isn’t local to me, it would be my new go-to weekend brunch spot for sure. I figured I’d go with the English-style theming and ordered their “fancy bangers and mash” special, was utterly delicious, very savoury and tons of great flavour. Sausages were cooked properly and not dry, veg and other accompaniment was on point. Good overall definitely skews towards high saltiness, I personally enjoy that but it’s the only FYI I’d include and if you are sensitive to saltier food you might find it a little much. The vibe/style of their decor is very nice, very much in keeping with archetypal English pub stylings with lots of wood panelled walls covered in old portraits and paintings. Servers were friendly and excellent, hardly had any wait at all in receiving my initial order or my follow-up mimosa. Prices are very reasonable, surprisingly low if anything. Anyways, all that to say: if you like English style pubs and want a nice place for elevated casual food and some drinks, you must try the house on parliament!
