My boyfriend and I recently ordered from the Thai Room through Uber Eats and we were pleasantly surprised by the flavourful experience. Our culinary journey began with the Thai green mango salad, and oh boy, was it a delight! The perfect balance of tangy and sweet, with a refreshing crunch from the mango slices. Each bite was a burst of freshness that left us craving more. Next up was their famous pad thai, and it did not disappoint. The noodles were cooked to perfection and generously coated in a savoury sauce that danced on our taste buds. Topped with crunchy peanuts and a hint of lime, it was a harmonious blend of flavours. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes. Both dishes were served in generous portions, leaving us with enough leftovers for another meal. Talk about value for money! Overall, the Thai Room impressed us with their delicious offerings and generous portions. It's a solid 4 out of 5 stars from us, and we'll definitely be ordering from them again in the future. Highly recommended for a tasty Thai fix without leaving the comfort of your home!

I admit, I am no expert when it comes to Thai cuisine but I know what I like and I don't mind trying new things or new places. I recently dined at Thai Room in Cabbagetown and everything was delicious! Our main dishes included Chicken with Tamarind Sauce, Ginger Chicken (Gai Phad Khing), Pad Kee Mao, and Pad See Ew with Shrimp. It was all very flavourful, with generous portions and we ended up taking home lots of leftovers. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the Phad Kee Mao with Chicken. The rustic noodles had a great texture and the onions, peppers, and ginger added great flavours. Of course, the other dishes were also delicious. Dessert was something special. The Mango Sticky Rice was so good, with just the right amount of ripeness and sweetness. The star, however, was the Deep Fried Ice Cream! I have no idea how they did this without the ice cream melting and running all over the place. It was perfectly delicious! If you're ever near Parliament and Carlton, give this place a try!

Sawadee - Ka from Thai Room & let this be your sign to visit your nearest Thai Room location because this is one place that serves you not only amazing Thai food but looking at the quantity you are sure to feed a party and all for such an affordable price, especially in today’s day and age. Everything was super fresh, delicious and worth every penny! If I had to pick my favourites, it HAS the be Panang Curry with Jasmine Rice & the Stir Fried Seafood with Chilli Paste. So so good!! . . . 📍 - 243 Carlton St., Toronto. 🧋- Lychee Mojito & Orange Juice 🥘 - Pineapple Roasted Chicken, Stir Fried Seafood with Chilli Paste, Salmon Panang Curry with Jasmine Rice and Stir Fried Shrimp with Salted Eggs 💸- $89.97 (excluding taxes & tips) 🤌🏽- Pop (the manager at the Carlton St. Location) she absolutely amazing! She was kind enough to recommend some of the best dishes served at the Thai Room! 🚨-Thai Room is also available on Door Dash, Skip The Dishes & Uber Eats!

EDIT:

The restaurant has since made an effort to rectify the situation by offering a credit for what happened. It's a nice gesture on their part. Shows that at least they care about having people back rather than shoving complaints to the side like many other places might. I've edited my review to reflect that.

Okay service, but they overcharge on your bill when you go to pay, making their service ultimately dishonest and not worth patronizing.

The good:

The service was good to start. Water came fast, and so did the food once we ordered. We got the crispy beef and basil chicken with a side of steamed rice. All of it tasted quite good for the price, until...

The bad:

Once we got the meal, there were fruit flies swarming our table. Kind of off-putting having to swat them away while trying to eat, but it's summer and I can understand it. It made the experience a bit less than desirable, but not enough to complain or get up and leave at the time. And then we went to pay. The server charged us $1.00 more than what the menu states for each item. I didn't think it was worth going back, because mistakes happen and a few dollars in the long run isn't worth fretting over, however, a few days later we noticed they charged a gratuity on top of the gratuity we gave.

My boyfriend, who paid, noticed that the lady who served us was hiding the bill and punched the total into the debit machine. Of course, this asked for a tip which we gave as is customary. However, when being given the bill, she had to be asked for the itemized version and not just the debit receipt. This is completely dishonest on their part, as we were only given the bill when we went to pay and not at the table. Once the itemized bill came, we noticed there was ALREADY a gratuity applied on the itemized version. Essentially, we tipped ON TOP of the already given gratuity and we were already overcharged for what we ordered to eat with flies.

I'm not sure if this is a common experience or if we were just unlucky. We weren't demanding, we said nothing about the flies or asked for anything other than the food we got. If you eat here, be hyper aware of what they are charging and ask for the itemized bill before paying or you might have the same experience. Overall, this means we will not be back again even though the food was good. The service was dishonest and manipulative, which ruins any desire to give them...

I have eaten here before and the food is pretty good and the service aswell but today it was terrible. Saturday lunch time and there is only one server. I had to seat myself but all the empty tables execpt one had leftover food from previous guets. After sitting for sometime i had to get up and get a menu for myself, and ask for water. After i decides what I wantes and was ready to order i waited for the water to come and place my order but I had to get up and place my order at the counter. When i was about to do this and uber eats driver intterupts and instead of taking my order first the server took the phone from the ubereats driver who had walked in after me. After that I placed my order and asked for water a second time and sat down. I wated and after sometime my order came but it was wrong, the server walked away without giving me water. I told him my order was wrong and asked for water a third time. I was willing to wait for the food but i observed the server do another task before correcting my order with the kitchen. Being pressed for time i decided to save myself from the service and leave without eating. If i do eat here again i will only if the usual server is working, not this male server who is clearly incapable of...

Eaten here over a dozen times. The lunch specials are a great portion for a very reasonable price. Have had:chicken pad Thai, chicken curry pad Thai, chicken devil, golden, red and green curries with chicken, vegetable pad Thai, vegetable red curry, curry shrimp and the spring rolls. All mains (that aren't noodle or fried rice) come with a free bowl of rice which is a very generous size 💖 All were EXCELLENT except the spring rolls which were fried in perhaps not the freshest oil. Everything else has been top notch, and the daytime waitress is a total delight. We definitely won't be going anywhere else in the area for Thai. The curry pad Thai and the three other curries are phenomenal. These folks know how to make better curries than I had in Thailand..the only thing to note is that if you are a spice lover, you can ignore their chili ratings. We were warned the golden curry was incredibly hot, we found it actually fairly mild, although incredibly flavourful. Prices, portions, flavours, all on point. Best coconut curries in the city.

Noticed the building is for sale, and we are very much hoping that the...
