Never bribe someone with Indian food. You could be accused of currying favour. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Good food = Good Mood and, that's what Indian Desire is all about. What if I tell you that all your favourite Indian Street Food and your go-to AUTHENTIC INDIAN FOOD is now in Toronto? YES, you've heard it right and if you still don't believe me? Swipe to the pictures and see how I got spoilt with a scrumptious treat from @indiandesireca. Indian Desire is a new restaurant located in downtown Toronto offering artistic takes on traditional, authentic Indian dishes. Their food is best paired with some delicious cocktails or an assortment of wines and beers. and this is what I tried: ⁣ * Delhi Style Tandoori Chicken The traditional tandoori chicken comes in a pomegranate and leaf salad. It is served with Mint and Coriander Chutney. * Corn Kurkure Crispy baby corn tossed with assorted pepper and, chillies. * Marwari Bhindi The Starry-eyed okra is cooked together with onion & tomato, topped with black & white sesame. * Chicken Tikka Masala Broiled Chicken teams up with tikka masala and marinated in yogurt in a creamy, spice-infused tomato sauce. * Za'atar Naan Za'atar is a Middle Eastern spice made from a blend of sesame seeds, thyme, salt and dried sumac. The naan is soft in the middle, crunchy around the edges. * Gulab Jamun It was stuffed with gulkand (rose petals and honey) filling was so authentic that it reminded me of the ones I had back in India. A Flavorful Delight with Excellent Service I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Desire, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by our server, Zayaan, who immediately made us feel welcome and excited for the meal ahead. The food was an explosion of flavors and spices in every dish we tried. Each bite was a delight, and I couldn't help but express my enjoyment through sounds, much to the amusement of my wife. The dishes were a true testament to the rich and diverse Indian cuisine, leaving us wanting more. What made the experience even more special was the impeccable service provided by Zayaan. His proud demeanor and confident attitude set the tone for the evening, making our visit even more enjoyable. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations that perfectly complemented our meal. Overall, Indian Desire provided us with a dining experience we want to repeat over and over again. We are eagerly looking forward to going back and exploring more of their delightful vegetarian meals. If you're a fan of bold and authentic Indian flavors served with top-notch service, this restaurant is a must-visit. Thank you, Indian Desire and Zayaan, for making our evening truly memorable. A Culinary Earthquake: When Tradition Shatters and Flavor Reigns Supreme. Forget the familiar, the predictable, the comforting curry house hum. Step into Indian Desire (Toronto) and brace yourself for a seismic shift in your perception of Indian cuisine. This is not a gentle exploration; it's a full-blown culinary expedition into uncharted territories of taste. Each dish arrives like a meticulously crafted jewel, a testament to the chef's audacity and artistry. Forget the homogenous blur of spices; here, every element sings with a distinct, potent voice. Flavors, previously locked in quiet harmony, explode into a vibrant, almost violent, symphony. Presentation is not merely an afterthought; it's a dramatic performance, a visual prelude to the sensory storm about to erupt on your palate. My soul yearned for a thali, a curated map of this uncharted landscape, a guided tour through the chef's eccentric genius. Instead, I was presented with a la carte dishes of breathtaking generosity, each a monument to a single, powerful flavor profile. It's a double-edged sword: the sheer volume initially overwhelmed, a delicious avalanche threatening to bury me in its richness. Yet, it also means I possess the spoils of this conquest, a treasure trove of flavors to revisit and dissect in the days to come. The service, a silent, attentive ballet, provided a steady anchor amidst the swirling chaos of culinary revelation. Courteous and knowledgeable, the staff were guides through this unfamiliar terrain, ensuring my journey was both comfortable and captivating. Indian Desire (Toronto) is not for the faint of heart. It's for those who crave the thrill of the unexpected, the audacity of innovation, and the raw, untamed power of flavor. It's a culinary revolution, and I, for one, am eager to join the ranks of the converted. Prepare to be challenged, prepare to be amazed, prepare to have your very understanding of Indian cuisine...
