It’s a late review but I feel that I must write it. My friends and I had lunch here on a Sunday and it was packed, but we were able to grab a seat regardless. First of all, the interior is bright and minimalistic. Second, our orders came at a reasonable time. The highlight of the meal was the broth and the dumplings. Truly delicious. Yukgaejang is my favourite korean food and having it as kalguksu made it a more comforting food for me. The noodles were made well. I personally got the spicy cold noodle and was shocked at the amount of veggies. Not a bad thing actually, the crunchiness of the veggies was perfect with the chewy noodles. But let me tell you, THE SOUP that came with the cold noodles. That was in my opinion the best one. I could not stop drinking it and talking about it. I don’t know what soup that was but it was so clean and refreshing. Overall, satisfying food and experience. The service was great. I think I would come here if I go through a break up as the noodles and soup were truly comforting. 😌😆 P.S. It felt as if I was on a healthy food trip eating here. The kimchi paired well with everything. The serving portion is more than enough in my opinion.

Follow @bredgyeats on IG for more food posts! A solid 4.5 stars, rounded up. Let me just preface by saying I'd come back again just for their kimchi. It had a refreshing, crisp texture where each chew unlocked the pungent salty and umami flavour from the chillis, with a touch of fermentedness that added the punch of aroma to the kimchi dumplings. Wrapped in a dough so thin it becomes translucent, it has an overall soft texture with its ground pork, kimchi, scallions and glass noodles as its filling. It provides an overall mellow taste that's ameliorated with a sweetish soy vinegar sauce and a crunch of kimchi. Their bossam set stole their show with its perfectly cooked pork belly, with tender chunks of meat and melt-in-your-mouth fat. Assembling each bite with the napa cabbage, raw garlic, ssamjang, and kimchi creates a present for yourself that is brimming with umami and textures. It includes a bowl of kalguksu, a beefy noodle soup with ground beef, carrot, onion and scallions, and the noodles have a satisfying springy texture that soaks up the broth nicely. Service was nice, and the seating was comfy.

The food was ok. Kind of reminds me of food court quality in Seoul. The price is a bit high for quality and portion size but maybe that is the price you have to pay for the location. The stir fry pork has mostly onions. I also wasn’t used to eating straight up raw cabbage with the bossam. The version I’ve had in the past was usually salted cabbage (imagine Kimchi without the spice). Not saying that this is wrong, just that I’m not used to it and haven’t seen it before. I thought their Kalguksu would be hand pulled noodles but they are just generic rehydrated noodles. I feel like I could’ve just made it at home. There are a lot of Korean restaurants in Korea town that serves hand pulled noodles and cost way less. They are also a bit stingy with their side dishes. I ordered the combo with the noodles and stir fry pork but it explicitly says on the menu that it doesn’t come with side dishes. Considering it’s not cheap, you would think that it would be included.

Today on Saturday, May 10 2025 at 6 pm I went to this restaurant with my friend to get the medium bossam for take out and it was a very rude and unpleasant experience for the both of us. The server has bangs with a ponytail and she looks young. When we first went to the restaurant she immediately ( with a rude tone) told us to give her a minute and we did, we didn't do anything but she looked back once more and told us with an even more rude tone to stay put.

And then she asked us to sit at a specific table but the moment we told her we wanted to get take out she told us we need to get up and just stand ( once again with very rude behavior) and immediately gave our table to another customer even though there were still other tables available. Throughout the time we were standing waiting for the bossam, she passed us so many times but she never asked us to sit or offer us water or anything. She acted like we were just invisible which is very disappointing because WE ARE STILL PAYING CUSTOMERS even when we got it for take out. Unbelievable. The other staff also didn't do anything and just passed by us. The other staff ( with no bangs and also ponytail) came to us with our order with no smile, and rudely said " medium bossam" while handing it to us WITHOUT MAKING EYE CONTACT. It's very unprofessional and unnecessary rudeness as we all are fellow human beings and being treated like this when we clearly are ABLE TO PAY.

I love myeongdong kalguksu but good food only is NOT ENOUGH. Please hire better staff and discipline these rude staff. I believe there are still a lot of nicer and respectable people who are willing to work at...

just wanna preface that this is my favorite kalguksu noodle place in toronto hehe and there's this server who knows that we're regulars and she's very nice and attentive to us out of all the times we've gone here.

however, this monday, i went there with a group of friend and at the end when we were paying, this server person, she was giving off like rude energy. the machine declined my card 2 times cuz i tried to pay with my phone but somehow it failed, and instead of letting me try for the 3rd time (i mean failing 2 times was kinda my fault but still), she literally just walked away and moved on to my friend without saying anything, and her energy was very rude and unprofessional, like she looked like she was visibly annoyed.

after my friend paid, she finally came back to me and i paid with my card and it went through and she literally walked away and didn't even say a thank you. i even gave her a tip. meep! literally my boyfriend was also like, "yea the vibe with her was really off".

the only time we went there and our favourite server was not there and we got served by this extremely rude and unprofessional staff.

i felt really bad on the way home, like all my previously positive experience about this place just kinda got overshadowed by this extremely rude staff who was giving off mean girl villain from kdrama.

i just want to say that we love the food but next time we come back and mean girl villain from kdrama is there, i think i will just walk out. urgh, she's literally the worst.

ok that's my...
