I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Nepali restaurant, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. Here's a breakdown of my visit: Customer Service (4/5): The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff. Their hospitality was impeccable It's always a great start to a dining experience when you're welcomed with a genuine smile. Atmosphere (4/5): The restaurant had a pleasant ambiance. It was clean, well-lit, and had a touch of Nepali decor that added to the overall experience. The soft Nepali music playing in the background enhanced the cultural atmosphere. Food (3/5): Now, let's talk about the main event - the food. While the menu had an extensive selection of Nepali dishes, I found that butter seemed to be a recurring theme in many of the dishes. While a touch of butter can enhance flavors, it was a bit overwhelming in some cases, masking the true essence of Nepali cuisine. My heartfelt suggestion to the restaurant is to promote Nepali cuisine in its purest form. Fusion with other culinary influences is interesting, but there's something special about Nepali food when it's prepared authentically. Less butter and more focus on the unique spices and flavors of Nepal would be a welcome change. Menu (5/5): One aspect of the restaurant that truly stood out to me was the menu. Each dish was listed with its Nepali name, and this was a brilliant touch. It not only added to the authenticity but also educated diners about the culture and language of Nepal. This, I believe, is a great way to promote Nepali cuisine and introduce it to a broader audience. In conclusion, this restaurant has its merits, including excellent customer service, a pleasant atmosphere, and a menu that does a fantastic job of showcasing Nepali dishes. However, there is room for improvement in the food department. I hope to see a shift towards more authentic Nepali flavors in the future, which would truly make this restaurant a standout destination for anyone looking to experience the rich culinary heritage of Nepal.

Based on my personal experience, taste and preference, Chulo might just have become my new favorite spot based on my first visit there. I along with my friends casually dropped in on the 24th a little closer to the closing time. We did have to wait for some time considering it was quite crowded at that hour. The staff there were extremely sweet. We were the last customers there and yet they were very warm and told us not to rush. The staff we interacted with were Mr. Ashim and Miss Yogita as far as I remember, we truly appreciate your hospitality. Talking about the food, firstly, the chat pate was a bombshell and they accommodated our requests as well. The khana set we opted for was one vegetarian and two mutton. Myself being an extremely picky eater, I wouldn't label it as authentic thakali but I absolutely loved the Khana set, the Kaju Paneer and Dal was just giving.🤌🏻 For my non vegetarian friends, they loved everything in the Khana set just the mutton was a tad bit less than upto the mark. My friend who was super excited for the Chicken Chowmein was more than happy to get what she had expected, it was legit like "Kathmandu ko Khaja pasal ko local chowmein". They even gave us complimentary Rasmalai at the end. Overall, the experience was wholesome. And we already have plans to visit there soon.

So, I was walking down Bloor and I discovered this place last minute and decided to try some Nepalese food. Little did I know I would have one of the best customer service experiences and incredible food ever. To start off I had the mutton thali which came with rice, garlic naan, potatoes, and veggies. It was super delicious and very filling. I highly recommend it. As well I took a look at the all you can eat buffet that is available from 12 to 3 and it also looks incredible. The interior and atmosphere of this place is also Fantastic and it’s overall very clean and has a very relaxing ambiance. You can tell everything is well kept and cleaned to a T. Lastly, I want to give a very special shout out to my waiter, Prajwal, who was very warm and welcoming. He easily was able to help suggest what food to get and give a little background about Nepalese food and history. 10 out of 10. Please check out this place. It’s just two weeks old, but it deserves to blow up. You can tell they put a lot of love into it.
