Jade Restaurant - A Glammed-Up Girls’ Night to Remember! Location: Yorkville, Toronto Occasion: My birthday bash (march, baby!)
Ohhh honey, where do I even begin?! Jade Yorkville was everything I could’ve dreamed of for my birthday dinner and MORE! 10/10 sparkle, sass, and seriously good food!
From the moment we walked in, the vibes were immaculate — we’re talking chic interiors, dimmed ambient lighting, and the soft hum of excited chatter mixed with the sexy beats from a live DJ spinning fire tracks all night! Yes, there was dancing in our seats, thank you very much.
Let’s talk SERVICE — shoutout to Christian and our queen server, Sarah! These two were absolute angels. So warm, attentive, and patient as we giggled, posed for 547 pictures, and sipped our cocktails like true birthday divas. They made us feel like VIPs without the velvet rope.
We went with the set menu (perfect for big groups), and babes — the PORTIONS?? Generous. I was already feeling full after the appetizers, and still couldn’t resist devouring everything else because it was just. that. GOOD.
The STEAK? Cooked medium-well exactly the way I like it — tender, juicy, and giving main character energy. The TRUFFLE FRIES? Don’t even get me started. Crispy, aromatic, and possibly illegal because they were dangerously addictive. Cocktails? Oh sweetie, they were GORGEOUS. Balanced flavors, pretty presentation, and they hit just right (responsibly buzzed and fully fabulous).
And I HAVE to mention the crowd — hot Asian baddies left and right, it was like dining in a fashion editorial. This place was giving runway meets luxury lounge and we were here for it! The atmosphere? Hot hot HOT — flirty, glam, and so Insta-worthy I ran out of storage space on my phone.
The overall vibe? Upscale but totally welcoming. Whether you’re rolling up for a birthday, date night, or a glam girls’ night out — Jade brings that high-end flavor without the snobbery. I’ve been telling everyone about it — and yes, I’m already planning my return.
Final verdict? Stunning spot. Stellar service. Sexy vibes. Sensational food. Jade, you made this birthday girl feel like royalty — see you again SOON!
11/10 recommend Book that table NOW, babe.
XOXO One very full, very happy birthday girl
PS: Thank you, Jade team, for the unforgettable night — you nailed every single...
Read moreJade was an amazing find! The five of us ordered the oysters (6), octopus salad and shrimp and uni toast (cut into 6 pieces) as the starters. All were delicious and flavourful yet not overpowering. We typically like oysters only with lemon, but these oysters already dressed were refreshing and light with a bit of a subtle kick of spice. The octopus salad had fresh herbs and micro greens; octopus was tender. The shrimp and uni toast reminded me of the HK-style shrimp toast except the Hokkaido uni gave it an extra little sweetness to it.
For the mains, we ordered two sea bass, two short ribs and one strip loin. All were cooked perfectly. The sea bass had two filets, one was presented skin down and the other skin up. I know the presentation was nice to have it that way, like ying and yang, but ideally both filets if presented skin side up, would have the crispy skin. There was flavour and smokiness in the fish, which we don’t find at some of the other restaurants. The short ribs were so tender and delicious; we all agree it’s the best dish of the 3 that we ordered. The steak was also very tasty, cooked medium rare as requested, but the star of the dish was the truffle fries. I know but can’t help it; I love fries. The sides that we ordered were the slaw and the sprouts. The slaw was seasoned perfectly, with crunchy bits and fresh mint (some herb). Both my FIL and daughter said that they’d eat more Brussels sprouts if they tasted like these Sprouts that we ordered.
There were only two desserts on the menu, and after all of the food we just ate. We decided to order one of each to share. The pandan cake was tasty with a thin layer of chocolate shell on the outside but could probably have more pandan flavour. I liked the passion fruit compote topping of the cake. The miso cheesecake was our favourite because it was slightly savoury with the sweetness of the sauce that surrounded it.
Christian and the other servers were very professional and friendly. We would love to be regulars there.
Additional info: great both for 5 people, beautiful ambience, and the washrooms were super clean and...
Read moreJade yorkville - which is not in yorkville - was an extreme disappointment . After convincing my girlfriend to spend new year eve with me there based on their limited reviews , we were seriously disappointed .
The cocktails , which were supposed to be the highlight were some of the worst I’ve had. Me and my girlfriend ordered our go to cocktails which we’ve had a million times ( old fashioned and negorni) and could genuinely not tell if that’s what we’re actually having.
The service was subpar , specially considering the location and price tag. The owner ( I think ) and maybe one waitress ( the person in charge of snacks ) were the only people who seemed invested in our experience . The bartender , when I informed him that I didn’t like the old fashioned said “ I made it “ and when I asked him for any whisky cocktail proceeded to serve me the exact same terrible drink , seemingly offended by me not liking his terrible cocktail . The other bartender forgot our order on multiple occasions despite us standing in front of her at the bar and was dismissive on many other occasions.
At one point , We were asked to not blow our party horn !!!!!! except for the ten second coutndown ( which was given to us upon arrival ) , an odd ask on NY eve !! The dj set itself was mediocre and the countdown was underwhelming without any presentation ( no balloons, no lighting , not even a screen or poster )
The snacks were good !! We enjoyed some of them but it was too little too late .
Going to a new restaurant for NY eve was apparently the wrong choice , one I won’t make again and don’t recommend...
