UPDATE: We recently ordered take out from here and were pretty disappointed by the quality of the food. I ordered the same curries as before (malai kofta and chicken tikka masala) and found that the actual curries looked/tasted very similar. The kofta were also somewhat burnt and the chicken was very tough with barely any veggies to accompany it. Definitely a change from our previous in-restaurant dining experience.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Replacing the previous Spice 505 Indian restaurant, this new restaurant (new management and menu) has a promising future ahead. We ordered the fish pakoras, malai kofta, and chicken tikka masala. The malai kofta curry was rich and complex suggesting the use of cashew paste. The chicken tikka masala was full of meat, peppers and onion and had a nice kick to it. Strongly recommended if you're looking for great Indian food on...
Read moreHyderabadi food at its best. This restaurant is a hidden gem for Desi folks and people who love Indian cuisine. I was new to Canada and I was searching for Desi food for a long time in Danforth Avenue area and fortunately found this food joint which served me a Chicken biryani which reminded me of Hyderabad. The biryani was very close to the ones served in the well established biryani restaurants back home like Bawarchi, sherton, paradise, which was a happy surprise. The curries and starters were very tasty too. Definitely felt like I was back home after a long time, sitting somewhere in Hyderabad on a cold winter night and enjoying tasty and spicy food. The owners of the restaurant were very warm to us and their vision for the restaurant and warmth shows through the food. Definitely would recommend this food joint for...
Read moreNew Indian and Hakka restaurant on the Danforth, and can already see the promise here. The menu is extensive, the food is flavourfully spiced, and the service is attentive.
Stopped by for lunch and got: Malai Paneer Momo: Never had momos with this much cheese before. Not sure taste is for everyone but I liked it. KJ Special Fisherman's Bowl: Thick curry, great amount of seafood. KJ Special Hakka Noodles: Lacked a bit of tastiness for me, but good shareable portion size. Garlic Naan: Piping hot, super garlic-y, yum! Gulab Jamun: Nicely chewy, not overly sweet, which was great.
Place is spacious, prices are ok, location is convenient. Looking forward to seeing Kachiguda Junction getting its foothold in...
