I went to this comedy club with friends (no I'm not a competitor, this isn't a fake account or a fake review) - we were charged $15 which is very cheap for a comedy show, but did hear at the end everyone talking about how they paid $5 as the majority of individuals in the venue were friends of the talent. It does list on the website that there are famous comedians, which was not the case. It was also mainly a spot for people to be practicing their jokes - if you don't mind being a guinea pig, you can go and make it fun for yourselves. A lot of the comedians were reading the jokes from their phone, and one individual had run out of jokes within the 5 minute timeframe and stood on stage for about 2 minutes just waiting to be able to sit down. I love that people are up and practicing their talent, but it was absolutely not advertised in any way shape or form that it was amateurs practicing jokes for the first time and that we were essentially donating to their experience. The drinks were also very expensive, and at one stage the host thought we were leaving and followed us until the bathroom to ask for payment if we were going to leave. The bathroom door also didn't even fully close so we had to go in pairs (difficult to do in the small space) and have someone keep an eye that we weren't walked in on. Note how none of this review is about the type of comedy, whether I found it funny or not I don't think is very helpful to anyone because everyone has different senses of humour. But it is very much an experience that I think benefits those learning to try be a comedian, but not something I felt I should have paid for because what is advertised is aaaaaabsolutely not what I got and some secondhand embarrassment was the overall takeaway. Also, I felt quite uncomfortable at the end at the host stood over my shoulder and told me to put a 5 star review and watched me do it, so I have come back and tried to finally put a more appropriate review. The owner shouldn't have reviews if they are going to try to discredit everyone who has an opinion on their experience that he...
Read moreBEWARE, this is a SCAM. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews and the pictures. Some of the reviews are not even for the stand up comedy show but for his barber shop that they own. The rest are not real reviews but the owner's friends who wrote lies. Me and my friends got 6 tickets for this show and drove one hour to get there. The place was a disaster, not even close to the pictures posted. They pulled the pictures from the internet. If you google the images you will find them in the fanaticsalon site, in the galleries section. His place was a tiny room on the second floor of a house with dark, scary entrance from the side of the house. You need to take a narrow, curved steel stairs to get to the room. The room has space hardly for 10 - 15 people if seated very closely. We could only stay for about half an hour due to how bad everything was. The guy was not funny at all with no materials to present. The only thing he did was pointing at the audience and throwing some offensive and humorless jokes. He brought a bunch of his friends to laugh at whatever he was saying, every single sentence! Besides us, there were 7-8 other people that night, which most of them seemed to be his friends. We wasted 33 dollars for each person to attend this show which turned out to be a scam and a terrible experience. Hopefully this review help other people to not be fooled by this.
EDIT - RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: We do have a sense of humor, but what we heard was not humorous. We wished that we had something to drink before, it would probably make the experience a little bit better. Anyways, there is no point to discuss with a dishonest business...
Read moreWhere should I start? What started out as us simply looking for a fun place to spend our Friday date night turned into one of the most cringe worthy comedy experiences that we have ever had. It takes a lot for me to write a review but this one is definitely necessary. The host was an absolute joke and the venue was in shambles. They didnât even have toilet paper or a locking door for their bathroom. Beers were being sold for 10$ and cans of pop for 5$. The venue is no where near what they advertise. There are no more than 15 chairs and you are crammed into the tiniest room.
You canât fault the comedians who definitely did their best and tried to do their thing. You canât help by feeling once you have left the place that youâve been scammed unfortunately. The posts that are written below in the reviews for 5 stars were all definitely written by the owner Keys himself without a doubt. Iâm sure his hair business must ruin the hair lines of many people out there as well.
This is not a fake post regardless of whatever is commented after this. It is simply a disclaimer for anyone who is even considering to going to one of these shows. We strongly recommend you reconsider going at any point.
All the best to all of the aspiring comedians out there! This comedy club is not the place to waste your...
