My boyfriend and I went to this place for dinner. We ordered two plates of sushi, shrimp tempura, japachae, and a raw salmon bowl. We also ordered a sprite, milk tea, and tropical passion juice. I won’t lie, the food at this restaurant was pretty good. However, they forgot the salmon roe for my sushi bowl and the “tropical juice” that the waitress claimed “wasn’t normal juice and the aroma is rich”, is simply just normal oasis juice I saw them pour in a cup from the oasis carton itself, so don’t get fooled by that. AT FIRST, the service was really good… Chi, the waitress was really nice and bubbly… come to find out that this was all for show until the end. The waitress had told us if we wrote a five star google review for their restaurant, we were eligible to get a free snack. So I did on my other account when I was at the restaurant. I guess this is why the restaurant had a high rating, don’t get fooled by their other five star reviews. When it came to paying, the waitress said that paying cash would be 10% off our bill. We paid the cash. I paid a $3.50 tip as I was unfortunately low on money in my current situation. Chi came back to me and asked “is it okay if you guys tip us more?” I told her I’m sorry and was low on money. She kept insisting that they deserved a higher tip. Last time I checked, tip is NOT mandatory in Canada. Out of courtesy, at least I did tip, not just leave without anything. The waitress then proceeded to say “you guys paid cash and the bill is $7.50 cheaper, the least you guys can do is tip 10%.” Mind you, the reason why most restaurants give you the option to pay cash and make your bill cheaper is because when you pay with credit/debit, some of the money goes towards taxes. Something like that, whereas if you pay cash, all the money goes towards the owner and the employees. Anyways, she kept demanding us for more tip money and she finally stopped when I said next time. Her whole demeanour completely changed. She replied back “okay” and brushed through us pretty aggressively to walk away. Just found it disappointing how my boyfriend and I said we were coming back here since the food was good before all that happened, just for them to show their true...

I really have to mention that this place has noticeably deteriorated. I feel from my experience that they are not really honest with customers for the following reasons: 1. Every time there is an advertised offer, it is impossible to purchase it at this location; the system never works, and then if you try to buy it in person, they tell you that the offer is only online. However, coincidentally, they never know they have this problem and show no interest in solving it. 2. Today we tried to pay our bill with a $100 gift card, and the waitress said we couldn't pay because the bill was $115, which was more than the amount on the gift card. We mentioned that we would pay the difference with a credit card, and she said no, that it was impossible, that it had to be the exact amount or less, otherwise she couldn't accept it. We asked her to split the bill, but she didn't want to either. Then she told us that they didn't accept the gift card because they had a lot of problems with those cards and that they never received the money. So we decided to pay the entire bill with a credit card and couldn't use our gift card to avoid prolonging the bad experience and hearing nonsense excuses. We have finally decided not to return to this location. We are going to contact the main office of the franchise to explain our bad experiences at this location and see if they respond positively regarding...

My family and I have come to Kibo for dinner for several years. My office is at Bloor and Islington, and I come for lunch with some colleagues. This evening was a huge disappointment. I ordered pick-up from the Kibo online. My order total was over $60.00. It was $75.51. When I tried filling in the promotion for the Chicken Karaage, it didn't go through. I picked up my order, and dealt with a young male who was looking after the pickup orders. I explained what occurred and that the online processing was not working properly. This young man was completely unhelpful, disinterested in what I was saying, and could not care less about the fact that I didn't get the Chicken Karaage. I asked him to please ask the kitchen to prepare it for me, since my order was over $60.00 pre tax, and he didn't want to. This person had zero customer relations social skills.

As a result of this disappointing and insultive response to my simple and legitimate request...my family nor I will ever be attending Kibo ever again. I will inform all of my office colleagues as well as neighbours of this incident. Additionally I will also post this incident on the online reviews.

Imagine, this fiasco occurred because your staff was unwilling to ask the kitchen staff to prepare a $12.00 chicken dish, how disappointing and...

Update: We went back to this restaurant to have a late lunch and arrived at 2:30 p.m. only to be told that they have to close at 3:00 for half an hour staff break. They have a handwritten note posted at the door. What I don't understand is why the staff had to take their break all at the same time. They even suggested to go for takeout but we came all the way to this restaurant to sit down for lunch. The place also needs to be better organized and cleaner since the interior is a mess. There is a trash bin in the hallway, by the dining area which can be seen upon entering. Food presentation is nice but the place is so disorderly. Decided to have lunch at this place with a friend. I ordered the tempura and teriyaki bento box and I chose bulgogi and shrimp tempura. It is served with soup and salad. The bento box also had rice and jap chae. They were good portions and so delicious. My friend loves sashimi and ordered the salmon don which was also served with soup and salad. The donburi had 12 pieces of salmon, salmon roe, sushi rice, avocado, cucumber and tamago. The food was fresh, of good quality and reasonably priced. Customer service was excellent. We will surely go back to this place.

**Review for Deep-Fried Sushi at Kibo** I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kibo, and their deep-fried sushi left an indelible impression. As a sushi enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for innovative takes on traditional dishes, and Kibo's deep-fried sushi is a standout. From the first bite, the perfect balance of textures was evident. The exterior was impeccably crisp, providing a delightful contrast to the tender, flavorful sushi within. Each piece was meticulously prepared, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and dedication to quality. The flavors were a harmonious blend of fresh ingredients and a subtly rich coating, enhancing rather than overpowering the natural taste of the sushi. The deep-frying process added a satisfying crunch, elevating the overall dining experience. Kibo's deep-fried sushi is a testament to their culinary creativity and expertise. It's a must-try for anyone seeking a unique and delectable twist on traditional sushi. I highly recommend it and look forward to my next visit to Kibo.
