I have to give 1 star even I haven’t tried food yet. Me and my friend went to this restaurant couple weeks ago on Sunday around 11. So awkward at the first when enter the restaurant. About 3 people waiting outside the restaurant so we just went in and saw empty tables and we just sat there. And I guess the owner yelled at us please wait outside. So we went out to stand in front of the restaurant and observe. Later on the 3 people who came before us went in, go right to the counter stand there about 10 minutes. I just guessed from outside, so the thing is…. when you get to restaurant you have to wait until they call you in and go to the counter, order food and maybe pay for your food and you will have chance to sit at the table 😂😂😂 It’s like self service restaurant. Me and my friend saw about 20 people inside, already sat at table talking and waiting for their food. I saw only one table got food and the rest still wait and wait and wait. Think about to ourselves we have to wait for table ( table was full after 3 people went in already) People inside are not even get their food yet and HOW LONG WE HAVE TO WAIT ????? We skipped breakfast and really want to come to this restaurant… we walked in the cold weather to get their ( about 15 minutes walking distance from our apartment)
So me and my friend decided to leave, not to wait such a terrible first experience at the restaurant. I am not recommended if you are very hungry and have to wait for hours +.. to try their food.
It’s might be only Singapore restaurant in Toronto but any way, I don’t want you have a bad experience and waste time like me.
I never ever have such a neglected service from the restaurant like this before. Most of the new restaurant in TO very have first impressions and want you to go back.
Their food looks good but after reading the other reviews maybe I postpone to go back and try food. I have been to Singapore and love Singapore food there and so excited to go out to support and try BUT after awkward service like that.. no nothing to tell the customer about their procedure 😂😂😂 for get seats and order food. I suggest the owner should have sign or come greeting customer not just yelling from the counter and tell customer to wait outside in the very cold day. Or at least the some menu for people while waiting outside to see and decide to go in and order. It will help save a lot of time for the customers and yourself. I understand you may have fews people working in the restaurant. Not only food people want to try but the service have to be incredible too. I understand that restaurant is very small. Maybe you can get rid of the presentation table away and put more seats for the customer. There is one big table on the side that they show item, snacks for sell.
By the way their food is not cheap about $24 before tax for one dish plus tip if you willing to give them for self service.
I don’t have any bias. Only my opinion and my own experience. Maybe people who read this got the different...

I've been wanting to try this place for so long, and we finally made it there, and it was absolutely amazing!
We'll definitely be coming back to try all of the dishes, and this is our new favorite spot. These are the ones we tried today, three beautiful dishes shared by two-
Beef Rendang: This blew my mind! I've tried beef rendang at other restaurants, this one is definitely the best one. The meat was super tender, very generous amount, the gravy was rich and flavorful, definitely try it if you never have.
Laksa- Such a comforting, fulfilling dish that warms you up, perfect for chilly days. The flavor had this complexity to it, and you can definitely taste it, every element in it was added with care. Has a nice heat to it but not too much, just perfectly balanced. Creamy, rich beautiful broth. The fried tofu in it was my favorite, so so good!
Roasted chicken rice: Now this one is definitely a popular one! I've tried Hainanese chicken rice in Singapore and always had the poached version. Never tried this version where I believe it's deep fried. Still quite flavorful, the side sauce pairs so well with it, the rice was cooked perfectly, which was my favorite. This would be a regular item that I'll be ordering every time I visit.
Dessert to go:
Kueh: Kueh salat and another type of kueh that was baked. It was so refreshing, not too sweet, and had beautiful pandan flavor. Super soft, and you can taste the rich coconut. Should've gotten a few more.
Kaya Croissant: This one was a surprising delight, I saw it on their IG and wasn't sure if it'll be available. It was filled with the perfect amount of jam and the buttery flaky pastry paired so so well with it. Again, I regretted after because I should've grabbed some more. It’s honestly so good.
Merch: They have so many different varieties of jams and some condiments. I got the Rojak sauce, really tasty, will use it for dipping sauce and cooking for extra flavor.
We got a tea towel with beautiful Singapore themed print on it. We'll frame it just like they did at the restaurant.
They also had lots of other types of merch that were super cute.
Atmosphere & Service: The owners of the restaurant and the staff were really nice warm people. You can feel that they really care about their work and the restaurant. Every inch of that place was carefully decorated, every little thing well curated. The downstairs space and washrooms are beautifully designed and furnished. It was a really nice vibe overall, loved the experience and will be a...
Read moreIf you don’t mind being treated like an inconvenience while spending your money, this is the place for you. The owner of Kiss My Pans has made it very clear that customer service is not a priority. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, they spend more time on social media rants, lecturing customers, and calling out anyone who leaves a negative review.
From the moment you walk in, the attitude is off-putting. The restaurant operates on strict rules, and instead of enforcing them with professionalism, they do it with unnecessary condescension. If you ask a simple question, expect an irritated response. If you’re confused about something, get ready for an eye roll. And if you dare to leave a less-than-glowing review? You’ll likely be blasted in an Instagram post about how “entitled” you are.
This isn’t about food quality—it’s about how customers are treated. Running a small business is hard, and as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry and owned a small business myself, I understand that completely. I know what it’s like to deal with difficult customers, long hours, and all the challenges that come with it. But I also know that a business cannot survive on rules and frustration alone. Customers don’t expect perfection—they expect basic respect.
The irony is that the owner constantly complains about how hard it is to run a small business, yet seems to have zero appreciation for the people keeping it afloat. Instead of listening to feedback, they lash out. Instead of improving service, they shame those who point out its flaws. No one is forcing kindness, but when you’re in a customer-facing business, hostility isn’t a sustainable approach.
I wrote this because small businesses, especially in the food industry, already have it tough. What customers want is simple: good food, clear expectations, and a respectful interaction. People come here for a taste of Singaporean food, something that’s rare in Toronto. But instead of making it a place worth returning to, the focus is on defensiveness and negativity.
This review isn’t meant to be petty—it’s meant to highlight a real issue. A restaurant doesn’t just serve food; it serves an experience. And if that experience makes customers feel unwelcome, then no amount of social media rants...
