The reason to score them 1 star is because they charge you service fee and in top of that want you to tip when the pass to you the machine. So they want you to double tip them, I consider that a dishonest attitude. (Updated June 18th): I reduced to 1 star from 2 because they have been told several times, as per the comments, that they do not inform the customers the Hidden fees (service fees 13% extra), prior of the order. Under the customer protection act, full pricing and fees should be disclosed before the order. Neither the menu, website nor the employees informed about the hidden fee, not even at the payment moment, which definitely shows as a bad practice to get double tipped. When I ask they try to paraphrased and disguised as part of that is for us, where it goes to the other part. So if most AYCE restaurants charge without informing the clients all of them should be investigated, for violating the customer protection act. I see that many people have complained about that 13% hidden fee (service fee) and none of us have been informed, but you keep doing the bad practice of not informing the clients. This is a really good candidate to be send to CBC market place or any news to investigate as well the bad practices from restaurants or as per your answer most of AYCE restaurants.

TLDR: Okay food, but a restaurant that will charge you for something they are bad at. Would NOT recommended this place. They charged us the service charge without letting us know ahead of time. There was only three of us and we don't see why the service charge had to be included by default, especially we barely got water... The table beside us was left dirty for the entire duration we were there. Some tables were waiting for service... A number of people from other tables tried to get their attention to get water only to be ignored. And then, they disrespectfully asked us if we were done after only eating a couple of servings instead of asking us if we want more. We're eating AYCE, why treat us like we need to leave right away? It's not even that busy. If they needed more tables, maybe they should clean the tables instead of making people wait. Overall, the food was okay, and par for what they offer at other places. The prices are okay, but they definitely have terrible service and charged us the service charge because they probably know people, not just us, are not going to leave a good tip for the terrible service.

It's sad because this place used to be good. Live around the neighborhood but haven't eaten here in a few years. Swung by for lunch take out hoping to relive the good ol days....boy was I disappointed. One of the best things to order here used to be the kalbi bento. But they raised the price to $15.99. Definitely not worth to pay $18 for AYCE quality bento. Opted to try the Bulgogi bento for $10.99 instead. Sides included tofu, radish, and I paid extra 50 cents for kimchi. Portions and tofu was pretty good, but unfortunately the meal was offset by everything else. The rice was cold. The bulgogi was burnt and very dry, even for "bbq standards". The kimchi which I paid extra for, was closer to cabbage. Didn't taste marinated, and the sauce they used tasted similar to the meat marinate. It's a shame because the kimchi here used to be amazing. It was more neutral with a hint of sweet, it was good in a chinese-washed way. But now, it tastes worse than supermarket quality. The meal was filling, but the food was definitely not good. There are better alternatives nearby. 2 star

I would not recommend a place that scams people and service was bad. We had lunch on a weekday in Dec 2022. Our water was never filled even though it was empty and it took a long time to find a server to fill our water. One of our order never came so had to follow up. When we pay our bill, we were charged $21.99 per person because it was holiday season. No where in the restaurant states the price change due to holiday season for a month......the manager said they posted a sign on the door so I checked again when we exited. Not surprised, no signs saying the increase of price for holiday season. Holiday price is for the day, not for the month. Furthermore, the app ordering food still shows an image beside the buffet we were ordering $19.99/person. Gratitude of 13% was charged. We have no problem paying tips when we get proper service, but when we didn't why should we. We will never return to a restaurant that scams people and does not provide basic service requiring tips.

Response to the owner: If your restaurant wants to charge holiday price, please do your job to update the app and post signs on the front door. The app for ordering food does not reflect the holiday price and no signs on the front door showing the holiday price, therefore your restaurant is scamming customers. Before responding, you should check the app and the front door of the restaurants as when we ordered food from the app, the price is $19.99/person and we double checked the front door when we left the restaurant where there is no sign showing holiday price as you stated. In the future, please read my comments FULLY before stating...

Actually quite disappointed with my last experience. They close at 11 and we get there around 10pm and they tell us it is already last call. Mind you, this is not an all you can eat sushi or restaurant where they have to cook anything. They literally put raw food on small platters and we have to cook it ourselves. We still chose to sit down, we ordered everything in one go since it was the "last call". The food comes and they say that the side dishes were 2 portions in one bowl to save bowls. I have been going to this exact location for more than 10 years and the portions were the same as one portion but we let it slide. Then during dinner, it was hard to get the attention of the servers because they were so busy closing/cleaning, so we barely got taken care of. On TOP of that, they put a "mandatory" 18% service fee on your bill. Where was the service that warranted me to pay 18% on top of my bill? But you know what, that's fine. I pay cash. Gave $100 for my bill which was $85.65 and I wanted all the change since I'm already paying an 18% service fee right. Get my change back and got back $11 and some change. They took it upon themselves to take another $3 for "tip" and didn't even tell me. I had to ask. Absolutely shocked me. I remember the good old days when they would have the late night all you can eat, come in at 10 and they close at 11 and last call would be 10:45. This location has gone downhill so much and its unfortunate because this was the OG...

We came here as a group of 4 yesterday. Overall, all of the food options were excellent and tasted pretty good, but it was extremely expensive.

We came for the all you can eat on a Sunday and we're told it was $36 per person. I felt that was fair considering it's essentially almost all meat (for most people) so it would be quite expensive per head for the restaurant. However, just for myself who had the $36 all you can eat and drank nothing but water, after taxes, a "service fee" that they didn't tell us about and we didn't know why it applied, and only a 10 percent tip, it came to $52. (I only tipped less because it was already so expensive and service was a little slow for most of the evening).

Overall the meat was good. It had good seasoning and cooked well, and it all tasted great. The veggies had no seasoning and were therefore quite bland, even when mixed in with other items. We tried dunking them in the little meat trays to pick up some of the seasoning and fat which seemed to help a little bit, but they still weren't too flavourful.

Overall, we did really like it but I just can't justify the price. $50 + with a random service fee they couldn't explain for good but not outstanding food that I had to cook myself is a bit too much. I would have been happier I feel if, with a better tip, my final bill came to $45 and if the random service fee has some explanation and was told to...
