Edit Feb 14: Mixed Experience on a Busy Valentine’s Day

We’re regulars here and generally love the food, but our visit today fell short of expectations. The restaurant was noticeably understaffed—only one team member was handling phone orders, in-person service, refills, and front-of-house tasks. While I understand Valentine’s Day brings a rush, the staffing and preparation seemed inadequate for the demand.

Unfortunately, there were two significant errors with our order: I explicitly requested no Sichuan peppercorns (to avoid the numbing effect), but the dish arrived loaded with them. The replacement took over 30 minutes. When the corrected dish finally arrived, it was missing the beef slices entirely.

Additionally, the rice bowls were served lukewarm and cooled completely within 30 minutes, which was disappointing.

That said, the food quality itself remains good, and we’ll likely return—we just hope future visits avoid these oversights. With better staffing during peak hours and tighter attention to orders, this place could...

Every experience with the team at Perfect Meat Bowl (Midland) is nothing short of spectacular. Our favourite server, Lisa, provides the warmest of welcomes and outstanding customer service. She always goes above and beyond to accommodate our every need and ensure a positive, memorable dining experience. Lisa is one of the sweetest ladies. We came in for lunch with our 4 month old. (First time having a quiet lunch in a loooong time) and she made us feel very special and was very friendly. She absolutely adored the baby and was all smiles. It says a lot about who she is and the care she puts into the food and restaurant. We noticed the same friendliness with all of her customers.

The food was also great. I ordered a ton of skewers for lunch because I rarely get to go out at night with a baby). It tasted amazing and we’ll definitely be back...
