It was a hot day outside and what better way to cool down than with some ice cream right? Unfortunately this place did not live up to the hype. It certainly is entertaining to watch them turn cream into icecream by furiously massaging the cream back and forth until it is thick enough to peel off the chilled surface, the ice cream flavour and 'toppings' are underwhelming. I ordered the coconut flavour, which tasted more like NoName vanilla icecream than anything remotely tropical. The 'topping' choices include whipped cream from a can, canned peaches, flavourless American strawberries, some junk food you can find at Costco, and other sugary things which should just be free, considering the whole thing was like $9! For one icecream! The pictures make it looks bigger than it really is, you probably only get one scoop of icecream but it just looks big because it's curled up into rolls and topped with whipped cream. On top of that, despite tipping the ice-cream-ista he still was extremely short with us and seemed irritated when we asked him to repeat himself (he was speaking extremely quickly). If you want icecream do yourself a favour and get some Kawartha dairy from your local...
Read moreA cup full of cold deliciousness is the best way to describe the desserts here. It's our first time trying Thai ice cream, and we'd come to QQ Thai ice cream again in a heartbeat! They have a variety of flavours and toppings to choose from, so you can make your own custom dessert, OR choose the ones listed on the menu for the less creative and undecided customers. The place wasn't busy when we visited on a weekday evening, but note that the parking lot gets full very fast during the evening hours too, at the plaza.
The prices are fair, the staff are multilingual (usually they can speak English and Mandarin), and they are experienced in making and rolling the ice cream. No complaints here, the treat came out as a surprise, and the taste was an awesome surprise too. QQ Thai ice cream is a must-visit whenever you crave a cold dessert and are in the...
Read moreHad the most racist experience here. The attendant spoke very kindly to the South East Asians but when I placed my order he was extremely rude. I was looking at the ice cream being prepared and was so engrossed in it that I didn’t hear him call out my order to which he yelled “Helloooooo” so loudly that it shook me completely. I thought he may have done it to grab my attention ( he could’ve just asked the attendant near me to call me or just tap on the glass ) but while he was asking me about the toppings he was extremely rude as well. However his tone quickly changed the moment another fellow Korean walked in. To be honest the ice cream was delicious but i would never visit this place due to the horrible service experience here. FYI the other attendants were fine it was just the one who was doing the billing and adding the toppings who...
