I just had a terrible customer service experience with an employee, possibly named Kim, who appears to be of Latin descent and manages both cashier and food prep duties. A few weeks ago, I ordered from this location via DoorDash, and the food I received had clearly been tampered with. In a rush, I discarded it without filing a complaint or requesting a refund.
Today, I decided to give the location another chance and ordered the same food through DoorDash. However, I called the store after I placed the order to request that the bag be stapled to ensure the food wouldn’t be tampered with again. Unfortunately, when I called, I got Kim, who was unprofessional and rude. She interrupted me mid sentence and rudely and defensively stated, "Our orders are always stapled, and we’re not responsible for what happens to the food afterward." When asked her to let me finish talking to clarify my request, she rudely cut me off and said, “Did you hear WHAT I SAID?!”. I was only trying to ask if they could staple the bag and take a picture of the sealed bag so that, in the event of tampering, I could file a complaint against the Dasher. She never gave me the chance to complete my sentence. When I asked to speak with someone else, she claimed to be the only staff member available and abruptly hung up on me. I immediately canceled my order and called back, this time demanding to speak to someone else. As she handed the phone to another employee, I distinctly heard her call me "locco."
This entire experience has left me with no trust in this location, and I will never order from here again. I plan to escalate this issue to the owners, as Kim’s behaviour is unfit for anyone working in food service or customer relations. I do, however, appreciate Alejandro, the young gentleman who assisted me when I called back, for his professionalism. He informed me the owner is available weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offered to send a coupon as an apology.
Additionally, after reviewing some of the negative feedback about this location, I noticed several references to an unprofessional female employee. If these reviews are referring to the same person I dealt with, it’s clear this is a recurring issue. If not, then this location has an even bigger problem to address.
UPDATE: Monday Nov 18
I visited the store to speak with the “manager” Ramin. As soon as I asked to speak to him, he immediately mentioned seeing my review and asked that we discuss it privately in the back. There was absolutely no “Hi, how are you?”. He began by saying, “My staff called me right after speaking with you and told me they were upset because you used curse words, and I believe them.” I responded by asking, “So, are you saying you don’t believe what I experienced at your store?” His hostile attitude immediately made me feel uneasy and uncomfortable. I explained that his approach clarified why the employee felt comfortable speaking to a customer in such a manner. This experience has ensured I will not return. The manager's unprofessional behavior explains the negative reviews about the staff and the subpar food that fails to meet Kupfert and Kim's standards. I regularly visit a PATH location without issues, but this poorly managed branch was my only option on DoorDash.
While I appreciate the coupon, I informed Ramin, who introduced himself as the manager, that I would be contacting the owner to file a formal complaint. He provided me with an email to reach the owner; however, based on his responses to negative reviews, it seems he is actually the owner. This reveals his willingness to engage in unproductive and toxic behavior toward customers, further emphasizing the unprofessionalism at this location. I will be contacting the head office and also reporting my experience to the Canada Food Inspection Agency due to the issues I’ve encountered and the concerning reviews about this location, particularly regarding the...
Read moreWheatless & Meatless... this is probably going to break a few people into hives just thinking about it BUT WAIT. This place will really surprise you with flavour and actually make you full.
If you were looking for a great tasting and filling meal, this is a great spot. It is gluten free and vegetarian. You're still with me? It also seems to be home to all the yoga pants wearing Torontonians. I had no idea we were keeping lululemon sales up with this one block of millenials. So even if you don't look the part of a curated Instagram yoga pant wearing millenial, you should step into this great spot and try it out.
So the restaurant is a fast causal place and it's just south of the Chinatown. It's right at the corner of Spadina and Richmond. Otherwise known as Spandex and Rich Man ... overheard that while in line. It's a great spot as it has huge windows that let in the sunlight and lots of dog and people watching. The place is pretty clean and has a fair number of tables. It does get busy for Sunday lunch time as it was about 70% full. Natural light caramel woods, large white wall swatches, and dashes of greenery are everywhere and it brings a warmth to the place. The place is photographs amazingly.
Cauliflower Tahini Bowl - bright and colourful, this large salad bowl came with a lot of different shredded vegetables and a large roasted cauliflower. It had carrots, purple cabbage, Lettuce, beets, radish, quinoa, green leaves, pomegranate seeds, seed crackers, and with a big scoop of hummus. There was a of nice textures and crunch .... perhaps a bit too much? I got a large 3 inch carrot slice. Overall, mixing it up with the tahini and hummus, you got a nice fresh crunch bite each time. I barely could finish the bowl so it's a generous amount for a meal. I liked it and wanting to try other ones to see how they are! 4/5
Zucchini Cauliflower soup - at first I thought this would be a bland mushy soup and I was very wrong. It was a very creamy soup and full of zest with a good helping of spices and pepper. They mentioned it had no cream either so for all vegans, this soup is perfect to get your body warmed up without feeling bloated or heavy either. For the addition of $5 to the bowl, it was generous and huge portion. 4/5
What's not to love... great tasting food, healthy, generous portions, great space, and fairly affordable. It's so hard to find spots like this in Toronto so when it's good, it's definitely a spot to keep...
Read moreI was on contract for the film festival, and thought I would try this place one time since there’s so many places to go in the city, but I ended up only coming here and returning every single day. What a fantastic place to have any meal of the day! This delicious restaurant comes with entrées that are full of flavour, colour, and nutrition. Every dish has a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains. Everything is put together in front of you, it all tastes fresh, and gives you the chance to try some exotic ingredients you wouldn’t find elsewhere! The restaurant itself has a cool and relaxed atmosphere, very bright and energetic, with vibrant music in the background. Employees handing out yummy free samples. Lots of tables to take a seat, private bathrooms if you need them, and floor to ceiling windows allowing the natural sunlight to pour through. The glass panes also provide a grand view to one of the busiest intersections in this awesome city! The customer service at this joint is a kindness you will have never experienced anywhere else- they will not treat you like a business transaction, but rather give you a genuine human interaction! The employees will give you space if you need it, but are also happy to ask about your day, and get to know you a little! A HUGE shout-out to PAT at this location who is the highlight of the restaurant with his charismatic attitude. You will witness him always going above and beyond to make sure people walk out the door happy. He is a 5-star review on his own. I usually only let myself eat out while working but will definitely be coming back regularly. The only negative thing I could say about this place is to watch your step as you walk out the door because there’s a concrete ledge there that may catch your foot! Otherwise, it’s the perfect place to go on your own, to bring friends with, or to sit down and...
