We walked in as a party of four with our in-laws. We decided on this spot since there was a spot for 4 available and that should have been our first red flag. When we asked to order nachos to start; before placing our main order - we were told that they didn’t have any - which again should have been another red flag. With no other options, we ordered the molcajete dish and it came with extremely tough meat and a side of stale chips. We also ordered 3 beef tacos and when they came, they tasted like anything other than beef, they were fatty and awful. It tasted like pork. To finish things off, when we tried to paid, we waited 10 minutes to ask for the bill, only for them to ask what card, and leave and come back eventually to tell us to pay up front. It was extremely disorganized, the food was awful and not worth the price, I would avoid this place...

¡Bienvenidos a La Chuperia! This bold, vibrant eatery on College Street brings the heat, the heart, and the flavour-packed soul of authentic Mexican street food to Toronto, with a little extra fiesta in every bite.

We kicked off our meal with their iconic Azulito — a deep blue cocktail that was tropical, zesty, and served in the kind of glass that demands a photo. Itwas sweet, refreshing, and sneaky-strong: the perfect start to a fun night out.

Then came the Mezcalita, a tropical twist on a classic margarita. The mezcal brought a warm, smoky depth that blended beautifully with bright fruit juices and citrus. It was summer in a glass, the kind of drink that made you forget you’re in Toronto and imagine yourself beachside in Tulum. Muy refrescante.

Went to La Chuperia to try their new Ecuadorian menu. We all travelled some distance to try this location out. Some dishes off the Ecuadorian menu weren’t available which left some of us disappointed but it gave us a chance to try some their Mexican dishes. Food overall was tasty, portions were good, and the mojito was amazing. Service, though….was non existent. Service was slow even though it wasn’t busy, no one checked in, refilled drinks, or even brought utensils until we asked. Everything came out at once (before drinks even), and we waited forever for plates to be cleared or to get takeout boxes. We ended up having to ask twice. We felt ignored the entire time.

Good food, but the service really let the experience down. Not sure if we’d make the drive...
