This is a very neat little restaurant tucked away in a place you wouldn't dare expect to be. I had the pleasure of dining here and I do have to say that it was a nice restaurant. Though it's a cafe due to their breakfast and lunch offerings only, do not let that dishearten you as the choices are abundant. This cafe is attached to a nice furniture store which is great if you decide to shop around for your next project or home renovation. The cafe did not at one bit skimp out on quality and Decour. From the little entrance you are warmly greeted by pastry and cafe counter, the tables and chairs are of a great quality and feel sturdy and solid. The lighting is specular and their design makes for a very nice ambiance. If you happen to use their washroom you can tell that it is well kept and the tiling used is of good quality.
The Food: The Mac and Cheese truffle Penne was a very flavour filled dish. It's not your usual mac and cheese but rather something of the next level. The mushroom truffle prosciutto pizza was something new to me but it was something I should've tried a while ago. I didn't think you could make a pizza taste so nice. The seafood platter is something you will have to try if you're seafood lover. The shrimps and calamari are cooked to perfection and are of the large sized variety. The sauce that goes with it is sweet with a good kick. To top it the espresso was beautifully made and the Tiramisu cake is something I usually don't crave but this one was different. It was creamy yet not too sweet and the flavour was just elegantly blended together.
The Service: Upon entering the cafe we were greeted and seated promptly. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They had promptly provided water upon seating and had always checked up on us throughout our dining experience. I also had the pleasure of meeting both Chefs of the restaurant and they are wonderful gentlemen with great culinary skills. They take pride in the food they make and the service they provide to the customers.
Overall this little hidden gem is a great place for breakfast and lunch. The staff are friendly and the chef's are skilled at what they do. The owner should be proud of the quality of food that is produced at the restaurant. Will...
Read moreI do love this place because the food is 10/10 and the decor is quality. I love the 2 eggs breakfast, salmon tartare, pancakes, and the lamb chops. The selections of teas they have always smells so great and my grandma loves their cappucinos. However, the service here seems to deplete upon every visit. Only one server seems to be doing their job and its the manager himself who assures that the customer has a good experience. One server forgot a main course for someone at my table while it was stated very clearly and proceeded to add the food item to our bill. If you have a habit in forgetting food items, write it down or at least repeat it to the customer. I get it, mistakes happen, but you charge the customer anyway when it was server error? Furthermore, another server seems to obviously hate their job as she never smiles. I understand that serving can be a pain as I have extensive experience in the service industry. However, if a server is miserable rest assured it will also make the customer miserable. Furthermore, some of the female servers with long hair do not tie it up. I was always taught to keep hair away from food as it is extremely unsanitary. To add, now they don't serve tap water and you must have a $6.50 bottle of flat. The food is the only thing this place has...
Read moreBeen to this location for brunch and had a pleasant experience. Second time I went for dinner with a friend and food was great so we decided to order a coffee and as the server brought us our coffees they told us we had to leave as they were closing. If we knew this we wouldn’t have ordered a coffee and just went somewhere else for a coffee. So we asked for a to go cup so we can take our coffees with us and left. I was not going to return to this place but being that the food was good we wanted to give it another try so we had reservations yesterday (Tues. Sept. 5) at 4:30 as it was the first day of school we were running late so I called the restaurant to notify them that we will be there by 4:50 as we are running late and the person on the phone said no problem. When we got to the restaurant at 4:51 as the server was seating us she informed us that they will be closing at 5:30 …. Half an hour to look at the menu, for them to cook the food and eat is not sufficient time. However their sign on the door and online says they close at 6:00. This place is ridiculous how they operate as they choose when they will be closing and kick their PAYING CUSTOMERS out and their service sucks. I will never be returning which is unfortunate as their...
