As a Vietnamese person, I’m very particular and critical of most Vietnamese restaurants.

Nang Saigon’s food is bold and authentic. To be fair, I was a bit hesitant on paying 20+ dollars for a bowl of noodles, but the portions are nothing short of generous! Come starving!

Their menu is much simpler than most, but I can see the intent. With high quality ingredients, I’d say the menu is refined. Every piece of meat and vegetable was high quality stuff.

What we ordered:

House Pho with 1 Beef Rib - $21

How do I judge a bowl of pho? Temperature. Is the bowl piping hot and does it stay piping hot? This isn’t the only measure I use but I will have my guard up if I can sip the broth comfortably as soon as it hits the table. Nang Saigon, your broth was 90+ degrees. Perfect.

Keep in mind, this pho is special as it is made with red wine. The owner told me that is a specialty, regional I suppose? It totally works! As a whole, the broth is very well balanced, not too sweet, and not too salty.

Will I be in the mood for red wine based pho all the time? Probably not but then again I’m not always in the mood for regular pho either.

8.5/10

Bun Rieu (Crab & Tomato Soup with Round Rice Noodles) - $23

This was the real star. Bowl of round noodles with tofu, 2 types of crab based meat patties, shrimp and tofu in a tomato and crab based soup. Unreal.

I really want people who are not familiar with Vietnamese food to step out of their comfort zone and try dishes outside of pho and vermicelli. This is of the dishes I would introduce them to.

10/10

I am highly looking forward to coming back and trying their other dishes. Bun cha Hanoi is one of my favourite dishes, I would love to...

Walked by this place many times and figured to finally check it out Saturday evening after seeing the reviews. Walked in and we were the only asian patrons (red flag) but committed anyways.

My order: Rare beef and brisket (Large) Portion: Generous. Was quite filling. Garnish: comes with bean sprouts, nice size lemon wedge and basil (these were fresh and very aromatic)

Broth: very tasty - did the obligatory broth test before diving in. More rich than most Viet places, with a hint of sweetness. Felt initially it may have been on the salty side but overall delicious. It all balanced out when eating it with the noodle altogether with the basil lemon, hot sauce. 5/5

Meat: good amount of meat (not too much, not too little). Meat was also tender and not dry. 4/5

Service: server was attentive. Gave me extra napkins as he noticed I was sweating bullets. 5/5

Atmosphere: good. It was clean and cozy. Sound like they were playing classical music? Interesting. 4/5

Partner had the rib pho. Huge portion of meat. It came with 3 large beef ribs. Had a sip of her broth. Nice to see it’s not the same broth used for the brisket and rare beef. Tasty. Will get this next time.

Overall, pleasantly surprised and satisfied with this place. The pho poutine threw me off but it’s cool to see a little more thought and put into the food. I imagine a lot of effort and care was put into creating their dishes and it shows in the pho we...

I absolutely LOVED my experience here!

The portions were generous, and the quality was outstanding. Every dish showcased fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked to deliver flavors that were both bold and refreshing. Each bite was a perfect balance of lightness and satisfaction—a true delight!

What stood out to me was the harmony of individual flavors. Every element complemented the others beautifully, yet each maintained its own distinct essence. The feel pho and house pho were remarkably different but equally delicious, offering rich, well-rounded flavor profiles that were neither overwhelming nor underwhelming.

We ordered the following dishes:

Beef Pho (N1)

House Pho (P1)

Lemongrass Beef (V4) (pictured)

Rice with Grilled Pork (R3)

Every dish was a hit with our group, and we were all very pleased with the food!

The customer service was just as exceptional as the food. I felt genuinely welcomed, and the staff was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. A special shoutout to our server, Andy (Hoa), whose warm smile and kindness made the experience even more enjoyable.

Though I didn’t get a chance to personally thank the chef, Christine, for the impeccable and beautifully presented food, it was clear that her talent and attention to detail shone through every dish.

Despite being busy, the atmosphere remained comfortable and inviting.

I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to...

Came here since we saw that Nang Saigon was new to the area and my partner and I were craving pho. Friendly staff greeted us at the door and we were seated and given a menu. Right off the bat, I was surprised at the limited menu (most vietnamese places have rare beef pho options but there were none to be found). I figured that a small menu wasn't necessarily bad (might mean that they focus on quality rather than quantity). My partner and I ended up ordering the beef rib pho ($23 for single rib, $28 for 2 ribs). We were given basil and hot sauce on the side and then a large bowl of pho came with giant beef ribs in it, along with rice noodles, and some aromatics floating in the broth (parsley, corriander, 2 slices of chili). I was a bit surprised by the lack of bean sprouts / veggies in the pho. Overall, the broth was clear and not greasy or fatty. You could tell it was homemade broth and that the chef took care to strain out the fat (more healthy) but I do feel like the broth was missing something in the flavour profile. The beef from the rib was tender but was missing a bit of flavour/seasoning (garlic would have prob made it more flavourful) Very nice interior of the restaurant and very attentive and polite staff. The food is ok but I was expecting more of a wow factor in the taste, especially since the price of pho is a lot more expensive here than other vietnamese places.

A decent new Vietnamese restaurant with great potential. Service and atmosphere were top notch. Came in right during opening on a Sunday morning. Got the house rib pho ($23) and bowl of vermicelli ($20). Was disappointed when they couldn't make Bun Cha Ha Noi nor the Bun Rieu, even though bun rieu was only available on weekends. My friend really enjoyed the vermicelli bowl; every ingredient was fresh and the quality is as you'd expect it to be. Conversely, I didn't think the pho was that great. Although the rib fell off the bone quite easily, the meat and the overall bowl of pho itself were really lacking in flavor. The broth was underseasoned and had too much fat. I think if they made the broth more flavorful or had more condiments at the table, it'd greatly boost the quality of the pho. Finally, the owner of the restaurant was extremely nice. He gave us free nem chua (fermented raw pork) and a 10% discount for being first time customers. Overall, I will come give this place another try because I really want to support them! However, the quality of the pho could be greatly improved, as well as the availability of other quintessential Viet dishes.
