Noon Moment(Sheppard) — Restaurant in Toronto

Yesterday my sister and I went to Noon Moment to quench our thirst for some bubble tea but only to get a discriminatory treatment by the servers working there. Although the drink was great we order a large mango, coconut, pineapple with mango popping bubbles, the service we received ensured that we will never be going back. We placed our order and got our drink, right after which a seemingly Caucasian mother daughter duo walked in and placed their order, whilst they did so the lady at the front desk taking the order same as ours, asked them for their contact details to become a member they also have an offer going on for when you place an order for a large drink you can club it with their 3 options and get two for $9.99, we could clearly see them being given this offer and explained, however none of this was done with us. I fail to understand where is this discrimination stemming from, because we ordered a similar maybe a more expensive drink but were offered so such customer service because we are people of colour, being brown. As residents of this area for almost a decade now we had intentions when entering this place to become loyal customers but staff there ensured that we do not even return. As a customer I usually keep quiet but as a Canadian I’ve had enough from these places discriminating on the basis of how a person looks. Started the week with Noon Moment right at noon! 🤭🧋

I tried their:

💚 Kumquat and Lime Juice bubble tea: It was refreshing and the ideal blend of citrus, sweet, and tangy flavours! I was so excited to tell Don (the owner) about how much it reminded me of calamansi juice from the Philippines. I’ve also never had the toppings in this drink before, and Don explained that they were called ‘crystal jelly balls’ or ‘white pearls’. I normally get regular tapioca, so this was a nice change in texture! The crystal jelly is less chewy and a bit more firm, and has a subtle sweetness to it.

🤎 Brown Sugar bubble tea: I enjoyed the milkiness of the brown sugar tea. It gave that familiar comfort we know - where the drink starts off with a burst of warm sugar, followed by the chewy tapioca pearls that make this classic bubble tea irresistible.

Both drinks were delicious, and if you’re curious to try their other flavours, they currently have a Peach Series and Sparktea Series that introduces you to taste combinations like peach macchiato, peach yogurt, and dragonfruit and passionfruit. 🍑

There is a points system, where you can get a free regular sized drink of any flavour and topping after 8 cups. You can also get a free drink of any size on your birthday (must show ID)!

This was my first time visiting Noon Moment. This location is easy to find and has a free parking lot!

Inside the store it is bright and spacious. They have a large menu with a variety of options. I took advantage of their current Happy Day drink Promotion.

The Peach Yogurt Drink was so creamy. The peaches were fresh and they used so much fruit!
