We went to this paint lounge this weekend. Our group was seated together, which was nice. The staff was very friendly and really good with instructions. They dried our painting before every step when requested. The main two issues are: You can’t get paint yourself. You have to wait for a member of the staff to come to you so you can request the colours you want. You might have to wait for upto 20 minutes to get a colour you need, if they are busy. My painting dried a couple of times waiting for a colour I needed for shading. I don’t think it’s the staff’s fault, I think the owner doesn’t want the patrons have access to the paint. So, that really tried our patience and we ended up making crude versions of our painting for the lack of supply of paint. If you end up going there, pick a painting with a basic palette, and ask for all the colours you need right away. It really dampened our experience, and one of my friends coloured in her brown dog painting grey, because it was getting impossible to get hold of brown paint. Having agency over the paint would have made the experience tenfold better. It’s overpriced. Just go to another place, we paid 60$+ drinks for a painting for which we didn’t even get the colours on time. The positives are that you will have a fun time with your friend or friends when you wait for your colour to be brought out. It was a good time because my friends are so funny, but recommend going somewhere else if your friends...
Read morePlanned a birthday surprise for my bff and they were very on top of keeping us updated with our scheduled date. It was originally during one of Toronto's messy snow storms and so they kept us posted of the conditions before rescheduling it to another date.
Good vibes overall and it was very enjoyable! You get to either choose from a selection of suggested paintings they already made or you can do your own. The staff were not only creative and talented, but they were super helpful and provided amazing service for me and my friends.
I HEAVILY messed up my painting :'( and so a HUGEEE shout out to Anita for taking the time to fix it despite them being short staffed AND having other bookings. She was a toal super woman for multitasking and being accommodating. As such, I am super appreciative of how she handled it because I certainly gave up and felt short for time that I was ready to leave with the mess I made. LOL However, she was patient and knew how to rectify it while teaching me techniques on how I should have done my sky. She was super personable and made me feel soooo much better with the outcome of my canvas. Attached are the before and after pics as my inspo was off of a pinterest painting.
Overall, would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a paint night setting. The vibes, the staff, and the activity itself were great! 10/10 would...
Read moreDogs roaming around and very disorganized service I don’t know why the Liberty village venue did not mention anything about studio dogs on the website. We had someone in our group that was deathly afraid of dogs and when she mentioned it to the first staffer, they responded that they were studio dogs so I guess that they were trying to imply that the dogs had a right to be there more than paying customers. This finally got sorted out after my friend almost stepped on the dog because she was so scared and was about to leave the building entirely. The entire time they just kept telling us they were studio dogs. I mean if the dogs could have been leashed the whole time I don’t understand why they weren’t? I actually felt like the dogs were for the staff and were just an excuse to have them at their place of work but they were kind of distracting.
Second, our instructor was quite okay but they had 1 instructor for our group of 10 and another group of 5 so it was hard to get a lot of help for amateur artists. This was a very bad and lazy set up for a place that charges over $70 per person.
All in all probably one of my worst experiences in Toronto and I definitely would not be coming back for my birthday as I...
