After a fun day of thrifting on Queen East, my boyfriend and I decided to try Que Ling Vietnamese Cuisine for the first time, and it turned out to be a great choice.
We started off our meal with classic spring rolls. They were nice and crispy on the outside and filled with flavour on the inside. Paired with the dipping sauce it was an enjoyable start to our meal.
I chose the Pho Rare Beef and Beef Ball Rice Noodle Soup, which is my go-to pho combination. Que Ling Viet did not disappoint. The broth was piping hot and had a rich, deep flavour that was both comforting and satisfying. The rare beef was tender and cooked perfectly in the hot broth, while the beef balls added a nice, chewy texture. The rice noodles were just right, not too soft or too firm, absorbing the flavourful broth beautifully. The variety of condiments provided, such as fresh bean sprouts, basil, lime, and an assortment of sauces, allowed me to customize the pho to my liking, enhancing the dish even more.
My boyfriend opted for the Pho Que Ling Special Rice Noodle Soup, which is a house special. House specials are always a classic choice, and he really enjoyed the variety of items in the bowl. The special included a mix of rare beef, tripe, brisket, and beef balls, providing a delightful range of textures and flavours. The broth for his pho was just as hot and delicious as mine, with a rich, savoury taste that complemented the variety of meats. The inclusion of fresh herbs and condiments elevated the soup, making it a thoroughly enjoyable meal.
Que Ling Vietnamese Cuisine is located in an unexpected spot, but don’t let that deter you. The interior is unpretentious, focusing on delivering great food rather than flashy decor. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.
Overall, our experience at Que Ling Vietnamese Cuisine was very positive. The pho was delicious, with hot and flavourful broth, tender meats, and fresh accompaniments. The ability to customize our pho with a variety of condiments added to the enjoyment. The location may be unexpected, but the food truly does not disappoint. If you’re looking for a satisfying bowl of pho in the area, Que Ling Vietnamese Cuisine is definitely worth a visit. We left feeling happy and satisfied, and we look forward to returning. Overall, we rate our experience 4...
Read more01 Jan. 2025 You know when you dream about wonderful food and sometimes it's not as good the second time around? Well, this was not the case with Que Ling. It was super delicious once again when we returned a few days later. Went back because I kept dreaming about that rich pho broth, which is life changing.
This time we showed some restraint and managed to snap a pic of #1 Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls with Meat before we dug in.
Ordered as well: #9 Rare Beef & Tendon Rice Noodle Soup #25 BBQ Meat, BBQ Pork Sausage & Spring Rolls with Vermicelli #4 Pickled Lime on Ice
Portions are generous. All ingredients are fresh and dishes are flavourful.
Service is fast. Meal with tax and tip was under $55.
They have limited seating, so, no lingering after the meal. There is patio seating in warmer weather. They have a lot of take-out orders.
Love this place! What a great start to the new year. 26 Dec. 2024 Homemade Vietnamese food is like a warm hug on this cold Boxing Day 2024.
Went there for lunch today and the place started to fill up quickly. It is not a large place but who cares. The food is amazing!
We ordered: #1 Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls with Meat #3 Que Ling Special Rice Noodle Soup #25 BBQ Meat, BBQ Pork Sausage & Spring Rolls with Vermicelli #1 Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed milk
And, because we are porky piggies, we saw a photo on the wall of a bao filled with pork & a boiled egg, so, we ordered it. It was bigger than our face and delicious.
Every dish - yes, every dish - was fresh as hell and delicious.
Service was friendly and fast. Shout-out to Angel who works hard to make this family business a success.
Cash only. Lunch for 2 (with enough food to feed more) was $60 with tax and tip....
Read moreI used to be a loyal customer of this restaurant, previously giving it a five-star review for its outstanding food and vibrant atmosphere. The dishes once rivaled high-end establishments at a fraction of the cost, making it a go-to spot for me. Sadly, over the years, I’ve noticed a steady decline in both food quality and service. On my most recent visit, I ordered a vermicelli bowl (bun) with specific modifications—extra carrots and lettuce, no spring rolls (real gluten allergy) or cucumbers—a request the restaurant had accommodated perfectly in the past. However, this time, I received a bowl of noodles topped solely with a flakey spring roll and cucumbers, that’s right no other toppings. A far cry from the vibrant, well-balanced bun I’ve enjoyed here before. When I politely pointed out the error, the staff was dismissive, scoffed at me, and mockingly suggested I put the unwanted toppings in someone else’s dish. This unprofessional and careless response was a huge letdown, since I couldn’t enjoy any part of the dish because of the allergy… especially as a recurring customer who has always appreciated their service in the past. It’s disheartening to see this decline in a place I once loved. The lack of attention to detail and poor service make it hard to recommend this restaurant anymore. I sincerely hope they can address these issues and return to the high standard that made...
