I bought produce for my mom Some of it spoiled and turned yellow I went and asked if I can do a return or exchange within a reasonable amount of time (2-3 days later) Cashier asked the owner of the supermarket if I can return Owner of the supermarket blamed me and told me her produce is fresh and doesn't spoil So I said okay fine it's okay if you can't refund (because I can understand in her position, she doesn't know if her produce went bad, or if I didn't properly store it) Even though I said it's okay, she decided to give me a refund and replace the produce for me anyway, albeit reluctantly because she blamed me but I let it go because even though she blamed me, she still made it up to me
So far so good but here is where things go bad
First off, she did not give me a full refund. I only got a partial refund. But I was okay with that since she also replaced the spoiled produce. So in my mind, I assumed that I was getting a partial refund and replacement produce which seemed fair and reasonable
But then she changed her mind and asked me to pay for the replacement produce instead of giving it to me for free so I just said fine whatever no big deal
I'm not really happy about the owner going back on her word and charging me after she told me it would be free, especially since I only got a partial refund. But okay whatever, I shop here regularly and I didn't want to make a big deal out of $5-10 so I said okay, paid, and left. I also bought more produce as well for my mom to make sure she has enough
Then when I dropped off groceries for my mom, she told me she also bought groceries for herself already as well. I didn't know she did this because 99% of the time, I buy all her groceries for her. So she took most of what I bought and asked me to return a couple items because she said she would would not be able to consume everything before it spoiled
So I went back to this supermarket the next day and explained the situation that we basically bought twice the amount of groceries my mom needed and she couldn't finish it all and asked if I could return it to this supermarket. Keep in mind, the produce I was returning was within 24 hours and unopened and cold because my mom stored it in her fridge. After explaining this to the owner, she said sorry I already gave you a refund yesterday and I won't give you another refund ever again
The funny thing is I've been coming to this supermarket for a long time and I have probably spent thousands here over the years. After what happened, I will never come back here again. If you want to be successful in business and in life, you can't be petty. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back here again and this supermarket has lost my...
Read moreI have often heard complaints about the attitude of few staff members at this grocery store, but I have typically disregarded them as mere gossip. However, today I had a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share.
One of the employees, who speaks English fluently, assisted me. I had purchased a large bag of apples, which was quite heavy, and I politely asked for an extra bag to ensure it wouldn’t tear on my way to the car. To my surprise, she responded rather rudely, stating that she would charge me 10 cents for the extra bag. At the same time, I noticed her giving bags to other customers without any charge.
It’s not the cost of the bag that concerns me but the inconsistency and lack of courtesy in the service. I have always tried to support both supermarkets in this area, but this type of treatment, combined with prices that are slightly higher than those of the other store, makes me reconsider shopping here...
Read moreI find one of the cashier Lady extremely rude and unprofessional. Came to buy something, she was manning the Cashier while ( cutting her nails ). Awkward moment cause I wasn’t sure if I should go to her counter (the other counter is busy with other customer) so I went to her station and took literally waited for her to finished cutting her nails BEFORE assisting me.
Felt like I was bothering her with her personal time doing her personal nail hygiene. And took seconds of eye contact and awkward moment before operating the cashier. And the worst part, she is babbling words that are NOT English while cashing me out. Did not even bother to place my item in a bag or offer a bag. Again, awkward moments.
Could have closed the cashier, or even communicated to go to the other counter.
Lack of decency, and...
